Summary of "Dietary inflammatory index and odds of coronary artery disease in a case-control study from Jordan."

The aim of this study was to examine the association between inflammatory potential diet as determined by dietary inflammatory index (DII) scores and coronary artery disease (CAD) in a population-based, case-control study of middle-aged Jordanian adults.

There is a higher rate of mortality from cardiovascular disease (CVD) in Iran and the mortality rate increases even after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). The aim of this study was to evaluate ...

Empirically developed dietary inflammatory potential (EDIP) in patients candidate for coronary artery bypass grafting surgery (CABG): Association with metabolic parameters, dietary antioxidant quality score and dietary phytochemical index.

Dietary Inflammatory Index and Odds of Breast Cancer in a Case-Control Study from Iran.

Chronic inflammation is implicated in breast cancer (BrCa) development; however, studies on the association of the inflammatory potential of diet and breast cancer have produced conflicting results. W...

Triglyceride glucose and hemoglobin glycation index for predicting outcomes in diabetes patients with new-onset, stable coronary artery disease: a nested case-control study.

Previous studies have shown that both triglyceride glucose (TyG) and hemoglobin glycation indexes (HGI) are predictors of cardiovascular risk. However, the prognostic value of TyG index and HGI in pat...

The impact of intraday glucose variability on coronary artery spasm in patients with dysglycemia.

Impaired glucose metabolism is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular complications, and coronary artery spasm is thought to underlie the development of coronary artery disease. Intraday ...

The ratio of two odds. The exposure-odds ratio for case control data is the ratio of the odds in favor of exposure among cases to the odds in favor of exposure among noncases. The disease-odds ratio for a cohort or cross section is the ratio of the odds in favor of disease among the exposed to the odds in favor of disease among the unexposed. The prevalence-odds ratio refers to an odds ratio derived cross-sectionally from studies of prevalent cases.

Surgical therapy of ischemic coronary artery disease achieved by grafting a section of saphenous vein, internal mammary artery, or other substitute between the aorta and the obstructed coronary artery distal to the obstructive lesion.

Direct myocardial revascularization in which the internal mammary artery is anastomosed to the right coronary artery, circumflex artery, or anterior descending coronary artery. The internal mammary artery is the most frequent choice, especially for a single graft, for coronary artery bypass surgery.

Abnormal balloon- or sac-like dilatation in the wall of CORONARY VESSELS. Most coronary aneurysms are due to CORONARY ATHEROSCLEROSIS, and the rest are due to inflammatory diseases, such as KAWASAKI DISEASE.

A complication of INTERNAL MAMMARY-CORONARY ARTERY ANASTOMOSIS whereby an occlusion or stenosis of the proximal SUBCLAVIAN ARTERY causes a reversal of the blood flow away from the CORONARY CIRCULATION, through the grafted INTERNAL MAMMARY ARTERY (internal thoracic artery), and back to the distal subclavian distribution.
