Pulley Traction-Assisted Colonic Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection: A Retrospective Case Series.

Summary of "Pulley Traction-Assisted Colonic Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection: A Retrospective Case Series."

We have reported the usefulness of traction-assisted colorectal endoscopic submucosal dissection (TAC-ESD) to overcome the technical difficulty of colorectal ESD. However, the direction of traction is toward the anal side only. We retrospectively evaluate the safety and efficacy of "pulley" TAC-ESD.

Traction Assisted Polypectomy of the Intestine

The purpose of the study is to verify if the ablation of lesions (polyps, adenomas) in the large (and small) intestine can be facilitated by using a traction on the lesions.

The pull on a limb or a part thereof. Skin traction (indirect traction) is applied by using a bandage to pull on the skin and fascia where light traction is required. Skeletal traction (direct traction), however, uses pins or wires inserted through bone and is attached to weights, pulleys, and ropes. Endoscopic surgical procedures performed with visualization via video transmission. When real-time video is combined interactively with prior CT scans or MRI images, this is called image-guided surgery (see SURGERY, COMPUTER-ASSISTED).

Dissection in the neck to remove all disease tissues including cervical LYMPH NODES and to leave an adequate margin of normal tissue. This type of surgery is usually used in tumors or cervical metastases in the head and neck. The prototype of neck dissection is the radical neck dissection described by Crile in 1906.
