Cholestasis, caused by hepatic accumulation of bile acids, is a serious manifestation of liver diseases resulting in liver injury, fibrosis, and liver failure with limited therapies. Da-Huang-Xiao-Shi decoction (DHXSD) is a representative formula for treating jaundice and displays bright prospects in liver protective effect.
