A series of 2-alkenyl and 2,6-dialkenyl boron dipyrromethene (BODIPY) derivatives were synthesized through Pd(II)-catalyzed regioselective and stereoselective oxidative C-H olefination in one step. The 2-alkenyl BODIPY derivative further reacted with various amines regioselectively at 5-position through direct oxidative nucleophilic substitution. The photophysical properties of the 2-alkenyl and 2,6-dialkenyl substituted BODIPYs were investigated, which showed great potential in fluorescent bioimaging.

A series of symmetric squarylium dyes (SQDPA-X) with different halogen (X = F, Cl, Br, I) substituents have been developed. The photophysical properties could be facilely tuned by the halogen modulati...
Hybrid meso BODIPY dyes are synthesized and their linear and non-linear optical properties are studied. Time-resolved fluorescence lifetime decay is found to be identical for all dyes irrespective of ...
In this communication we present the synthesis of three unknown polyfluorinated cyanine dyes and their application as selective markers for mitochondria. By incorporating fluorous side chains into cya...
The photophysical and photochemical properties of the xanthene dyes mercurochrome (MCr) and eosin-Y (Eos); and the phenazine dye safranine-O (SF) are evaluated in the presence of amino-terminated poly...
In the recent past, development of milder, safer and comparatively less toxic methods in organic synthesis has received great attention. We report a simple and facile method for the synthesis of subst...
Investigators propose to develop hyperpolarized [13C]-labeled pyruvate as potential imaging probes to assess two essential in vivo processes in cerebral metabolism: oxidative metabolism an...
The pathogenesis of chronic hepatitis C (CHC) is associated to severe oxidative stress and non-selective immunological disturbance that leads to necro-inflammation and progression of fibro...
Obesity is associated with general low grade inflammation and, consequently, of oxidative stress that affects properties and functionality of lipoproteins. Metabolic syndrome exacerbate lo...
Cholesterol is the precursor of glucocorticoids, mineralocorticoids and sex steroids. Both adrenal and non-adrenal (ovarian + testicular) all steroid hormones are primarily synthesized usi...
Introduction: Diabetes mellitus a chronic diseases, is the most common and important metabolic disease in human. Increased free radicals production due to hyperglycemia produces oxidative ...
A mixture of several closely related glycosidic antibiotics obtained from Actinomyces (or Streptomyces) olivoreticuli. They are used as fluorescent dyes that bind to DNA and prevent both RNA and protein synthesis and are also used as antineoplastic agents.
Aniline compounds that contain two amino groups. They are used as a precursor in the synthesis of HETEROCYCLIC COMPOUNDS and POLYMERS. p-Phenylenediamine is used in the manufacture of HAIR DYES and is an ALLERGEN.
Dyes used as cosmetics to change hair color either permanently or temporarily.
Green dyes containing ammonium and aryl sulfonate moieties that facilitate the visualization of tissues, if given intravenously. They have mostly been used in the study of kidney physiology.
A disturbance in the prooxidant-antioxidant balance in favor of the former, leading to potential damage. Indicators of oxidative stress include damaged DNA bases, protein oxidation products, and lipid peroxidation products (Sies, Oxidative Stress, 1991, pxv-xvi).
