Case Report of Anemia Following Fetal-Maternal Hemorrhage.

08:00 EDT 3rd April 2019 | BioPortfolio

Summary of "Case Report of Anemia Following Fetal-Maternal Hemorrhage."

Any maternal history of blood loss, ABO or Rh incompatibility, and hydrops fetalis often leads to suspicion of neonatal anemia postnatally. When maternal history consists only of decreased fetal movement, recognition of neonatal anemia can be problematic.

Massive Fetomaternal Hemorrhage Remote from Term: Favorable Outcome after Fetal Resuscitation and Conservative Management.

Fetomaternal hemorrhage (FMH) is a rare condition that requires early diagnosis and appropriate treatment due to its potentially severe consequences. We report a case of massive FMH presenting as decr...

Peripheral Persistent Fetal Vasculature: A Report of Three Cases.

The authors report three cases of persistent fetal vasculature (PFV) presenting with an atypical peripheral fibrovascular stalk. A 5-month-old with congenital exotropia with a vitreous hemorrhage in t...

"Provoked" feto-maternal hemorrhage may represent insensible cell exchange in pregnancies from 6-22weeks gestational age.

To quantify spontaneous and provoked fetal to maternal cell exchange in the first half of pregnancy. Transfer of fetal red blood cells (FRBCs) into the maternal circulation during the first half of pr...

Fetal closed head injuries following maternal motor vehicle accident: A clinicopathologic case report.

The clinicopathologic appearance of fetal closed head injury (FCHI) due to a maternal motor vehicle accident has not been fully investigated because of its extreme rarity.

The most common cause of fetal tachycardia is maternal fever. Fetal tachycardia often precedes the maternal fever, and fetal tachycardia confounds the interpretation of electronic fetal m...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

A condition characterized by the abnormal presence of ERYTHROBLASTS in the circulation of the FETUS or NEWBORNS. It is a disorder due to BLOOD GROUP INCOMPATIBILITY, such as the maternal alloimmunization by fetal antigen RH FACTORS leading to HEMOLYSIS of ERYTHROCYTES, hemolytic anemia (ANEMIA, HEMOLYTIC), general edema (HYDROPS FETALIS), and SEVERE JAUNDICE IN NEWBORN.

The degree of antigenic similarity between tissues of the mother and those of the FETUS. Maternal-fetal histocompatibility can determine the acceptance and health of the fetus.

A highly vascularized mammalian fetal-maternal organ and major site of transport of oxygen, nutrients, and fetal waste products. It includes a fetal portion (CHORIONIC VILLI) derived from TROPHOBLASTS and a maternal portion (DECIDUA) derived from the uterine ENDOMETRIUM. The placenta produces an array of steroid, protein and peptide hormones (PLACENTAL HORMONES).

Exchange of substances between the maternal blood and the fetal blood at the PLACENTA via PLACENTAL CIRCULATION. The placental barrier excludes microbial or viral transmission.

A condition in newborns caused by immunity of the mother to PLATELET ALLOANTIGENS on the fetal platelets. The PLATELETS, coated with maternal ANTIBODIES, are destroyed and removed by the fetal MONONUCLEAR PHAGOCYTE SYSTEM. Affected infants may have INTRACRANIAL HEMORRHAGES.
