Summary of "A Late-Stage Functionalization Approach to Derivatives of the Pyrano3,2-acarbazole Natural Products."

Site-selective late-stage functionalizations of a pyrano[3,2-a]carbazole core related to the murrayamine natural products is reported. Specifically, selective C3 and C6 bromination has been achieved as well as C8 borylation. These functionalizations set the stage for access to a variety of natural products as well as their derivatives.

Enzymatic CH functionalizations for natural product synthesis.

Direct functionalization of CH bond is rapidly becoming an indispensible tool in chemical synthesis. However, due to the ubiquity of CH bonds, achieving site-selective functionalization remains an ard...

Regio- and stereoselective C-H functionalization of brassinosteroids.

Late stage C-H functionalization is a powerful tool for modification of natural compounds. Herein we report that the rhodium-catalyzed reaction of brassinosteroids with aryloxysulfonamides proceeds re...

An Indirect Synthetic Approach toward Conformationally Constrained 20-Membered Unclosed Cryptands via Late-Stage Installation of Intraannular Substituents.

A new protocol for PTC-mediated O-alkylation of the intraannular position of 20-membered unclosed cryptands (UCs) is reported. In contrast to the classical, "direct" strategy, which requires functiona...

Late-stage Functionalization of Peptides and Cyclopeptides using Organozinc reagents.

We have reported a new late-stage functionalization of small peptides and cyclopeptides using readily prepared iodotyrosine or iodophenylalanine containing peptides and performing Negishi cross-coupli...

NHC-Catalyzed Deamination of Primary Sulfonamides: A Platform for Late-Stage Functionalization.

Herein we describe the development and application of a method for the mild, late-stage conversion of primary sulfonamides to several other other functional groups. These reactions occur via initial r...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

A late 20th-century philosophical approach or style of cultural analysis that seeks to reveal the cultural or social construction of concepts conventionally assumed to be natural or universal. (from E.R. DuBose, The Illusion of Trust: Toward a Medical Theological Ethics in the Postmodern Age, Kluwer, 1995)

The stage in the first meiotic prophase, following ZYGOTENE STAGE, when CROSSING OVER between homologous CHROMOSOMES begins.

The process of TOOTH formation. It is divided into several stages including: the dental lamina stage, the bud stage, the cap stage, and the bell stage. Odontogenesis includes the production of tooth enamel (AMELOGENESIS), dentin (DENTINOGENESIS), and dental cementum (CEMENTOGENESIS).

Pathological conditions (Disorder, SYNDROME, or DISEASE) whose SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS manifest late in the life of an individual.

Members of a religious denomination founded in the United States during the late 19th century in which active evangelism is practiced, the imminent approach of the millennium is preached, and war and organized government authority in matters of conscience are strongly opposed (from American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, 4th ed). Jehovah's Witnesses generally refuse blood transfusions and other blood-based treatments based on religious belief.
