Summary of "Elevated plasma levels of soluble C-type lectin-like receptor 2 (CLEC2) in patients with thrombotic microangiopathy."

Thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA) is caused by activated platelets. The plasma C-type lectin-like receptor 2 (CLEC2) levels in 58 patients with TMA were examined and compared with those in healthy volunteers and other diseases.

Plasma Soluble Urokinase Plasminogen Activator Receptor Levels in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Patients.

This study aimed to determine whether plasma soluble urokinase plasminogen activator receptor (suPAR) could serve as an activity biomarker in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients. suPAR levels ...

GABA receptors in the hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus mediate β-adrenoceptor-induced elevations of plasma noradrenaline in rats.

In the brain, various neurotransmitters such as noradrenaline and GABA regulate peripheral sympathetic functions. Previously, it has been reported that both β-adrenoceptor activation and GABA recepto...

Association of C-type lectin 18 levels with extrahepatic manifestations in chronic HCV infection.

Mixed cryobulinemia (MC) is the most common chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV)-associated extrahepatic manifestation. C-type lectin 18 (CLEC18) is a novel secretory lectin that is abundantly expressed in...

Plasma Angiopoietin-2/-1 Ratio is Elevated and Angiopoietin-2 Levels Correlate with Plasma Syndecan-1 Following Pediatric Trauma.

Angiopoietin-1 (Agpt-1) and Agpt-2 are cytokine regulators of vascular endothelial integrity. Elevated plasma Agpt-2 levels and ratios of Agpt-2:Agpt-1 are associated with adverse outcomes in adult tr...

Plasma Levels of Soluble AβPPβ as a Biomarker for Alzheimer's Disease with Dementia.

Cost- and time-effective markers of Alzheimer's disease (AD), reliable and feasible at the population level are urgently needed. Soluble amyloid-β protein precursor β (sAβPPβ) in plasma has attrac...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

An interleukin-1 receptor subtype that competes with the INTERLEUKIN-1 RECEPTOR TYPE I for binding to INTERLEUKIN-1ALPHA and INTERLEUKIN-1BETA. The interleukin-1 type II receptor appears to lack signal transduction capability. Therefore it may act as a "decoy" receptor that modulates the activity of its ligands. Both membrane-bound and soluble forms of the receptor have been identified.

An angiotensin receptor subtype that is expressed at high levels in fetal tissues. Many effects of the angiotensin type 2 receptor such as VASODILATION and sodium loss are the opposite of that of the ANGIOTENSIN TYPE 1 RECEPTOR.

A subclass of NK cell lectin-like receptors that associates with a variety of members of NK CELL LECTIN-LIKE RECEPTOR SUBFAMILY C to form heterodimeric receptors for HLA-E antigen.

A subclass of NK cell lectin-like receptors that associates with members of NK CELL LECTIN-LIKE RECEPTOR SUBFAMILY D to form heterodimeric receptors for HLA-E antigen.

A C-type lectin that is a cell surface receptor for ASIALOGLYCOPROTEINS. It is found primarily in the LIVER where it mediates the endocytosis of serum glycoproteins.
