The type six secretion systems (T6SSs) allow bacteria to translocate effector proteins to other bacteria or to eukaryotic cells. However, little is known about the role of T6SS in endosymbiotic bacteria. In this work we describe the T6SS of Rhizobium etli Mim1, a bacteria able to effectively nodulate common beans. Structural genes and those encoding possible effectors have been identified in a 28-gene DNA region of R. etli Mim1 pRetMIM1f plasmid. Immunodetection of Hcp protein, a conserved key structural component of T6SS systems, indicates that this secretion system is active at high cell densities, in the presence of root exudates, and in bean nodules. R. etli mutants affected in T6SS structural genes produced plants with lower dry weight and smaller nodules than the wild-type strain, indicating for the first time that the T6SS plays a positive role in Rhizobium-legume symbiosis.

Legionella utilizes specialized protein secretion machinery called the type IV secretion system encoded by dot/icm genes to modulate host cellular systems. We describe here the procedure to isolate th...
In sedimentation velocity experiments, we have been able to detect hybrid Rhizobium etli pyruvate carboxylase tetramers formed between subunits that contain covalently bound biotin and mutant subunits...
The effects and regulatory mechanisms of co-inoculation of plant-growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPRs) and rhizobium in plant-soil systems remain unclear, despite numerous reports that PGPRs or rhizo...
The lytic transglycosylases (LTs) are important enzymes that degrade peptidoglycan of the bacterial cell wall and affecting many biological functions. We present here that XC_0706 and XC_3001 were ann...
Type IV pilus (T4P)-like systems have been identified in almost every major phylum of prokaryotic life. They include the type IVa pilus (T4aP), type II secretion system (T2SS), type IVb pilus (T4bP), ...
In type 2 diabetic patients, abnormality in secretion or action of incretin(GLP-1, GIP) is observed. Although controversy still exists, the secretion of GLP-1 is thought to be reduced by 2...
To test the effect of Nexium and probiotics on insulin secretion and cardiovascular risk factors on type 2 diabetic patients. Study Hypothesis: 1. Nexium causes an increased gast...
We aim to demonstrate that oral administration of glibenclamide stimulates pancreatic glucagon secretion during hypoglycemia in insulin-deficient (C-peptide negative) patients with type 1 ...
This trial is conducted in Europe. The aim of this trial is to assess the effect of NNC 90-1170 (liraglutide) on pulsatile insulin secretion and insulin secretion after a standard meal in ...

A species of gram-negative bacteria and nitrogen innoculant of PHASEOLUS VULGARIS.
A synthetic PGE2 analog that has an inhibitory effect on gastric acid secretion, a mucoprotective effect, and a postprandial lowering effect on gastrin. It has been shown to be efficient and safe in the treatment of gastroduodenal ulcers.
A muscarinic antagonist used as an antispasmodic and in urinary incontinence. It has little effect on glandular secretion or the cardiovascular system. It does have some local anesthetic properties and is used in gastrointestinal, biliary, and urinary tract spasms.
Multiprotein transmembrane complexes in GRAM-NEGATIVE BACTERIA involved in either the secretion of effector proteins from the bacterial cytoplasm into host cells, or the secretion and assembly of flagellar components. The major component of the T3SSs is called the injectosome or needle complex.
Gram-negative bacterial secretion systems which carry out the secretion of folded proteins.T2SSs secrete folded proteins from the PERIPLASMIC SPACE that have been exported there by SEC TRANSLOCASE or TAT SECRETION SYSTEMS, or they secrete folded proteins directly from the CYTOPLASM. The T2SSs have four substructures, an ATPase, an inner membrane platform, a pseudopilin, and secretin, an outer membrane complex which is a channel for secretion. (This bacterial secretin is not the same as the mammalian hormone also named SECRETIN.)
Bioinformatics is the application of computer software and hardware to the management of biological data to create useful information. Computers are used to gather, store, analyze and integrate biological and genetic information which can then be applied...
