Accuracy of transvaginal sonography versus magnetic resonance imaging in the diagnosis of rectosigmoid endometriosis: Systematic review and meta-analysis.

Intestinal endometriosis is considered the most severe form of deep endometriosis, the rectosigmoid being involved in about 90% of cases of bowel infiltration. Transvaginal sonography (TVS) and magnet...

Genome-wide profiling of miRNA expression patterns in tubal endometriosis.

MicroRNA (miRNA) expression profiles in tubal endometriosis (EM) are still poorly understood. In this study, we analyzed the differential expression of miRNAs and the related gene networks and signal...

Conservative treatment of rectosigmoid endometriosis: a prospective study.

Deep infiltrating endometriosis is a common cause of pelvic pain. However, some patients have limited problems that may be controlled by medical treatment, thus avoiding potentially severe complicatio...

Surgical, Clinical, and Functional Outcomes in Patients with Rectosigmoid Endometriosis in the Grey Zone: 13-Year Long-term Follow-up.

To date, there is no consensus regarding the choice between radical (segmental resection) or conservative (shaving, discoid excision) surgical management for rectosigmoid endometriosis (RSE), in parti...

Diverting stoma-related complications following colorectal endometriosis surgery: a 163-patient cohort.

Deep endometriosis may simultaneously infiltrate the vagina and the rectosigmoid, which associated resection may increase the risk of postoperative complications. Among these complications, rectovagin...

Indocyanine Green and Rectosigmoid Endometriosis

Indocyanine green is a fluorescent dye used for the intraoperative evaluation of tissue perfusion. The aim of this study is to evaluate a possible correlation between rectosigmoid v...

Validation Study for Endometriosis PRO

Assess the psychometric properties of the Endometriosis Symptom Diary (ESD) and the Endometriosis Impact Scale (EIS) and provide evidence whether the PRO measures are reliable, valid and a...

Laparoscopic Tubal Adhesiolysis Versus IVF-ICSI

2groups with peritoneal adhesions after cesarean delivery will be allocated to either laparoscopic tubal adhesiolysis or to IVF/ICSI

Characteristics of Patient Population With Endometriosis

The purpose of this study is to collect and analyze data on the characteristics of women who are seeking treatment for endometriosis, suspected endometriosis, pain and/or infertility as pa...

Endometriosis Biomarker Discovery Study

This is a prospective, Single time point, discovery study intending to identify biomarkers that can differentiate endometriosis from other underlying reasons for pelvic pain. Patients unde...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

Inflammation of the uterine salpinx, the trumpet-shaped FALLOPIAN TUBES, usually caused by ascending infections of organisms from the lower reproductive tract. Salpingitis can lead to tubal scarring, hydrosalpinx, tubal occlusion, INFERTILITY, and ectopic pregnancy (PREGNANCY, ECTOPIC)

A method of delineating blood vessels by subtracting a tissue background image from an image of tissue plus intravascular contrast material that attenuates the X-ray photons. The background image is determined from a digitized image taken a few moments before injection of the contrast material. The resulting angiogram is a high-contrast image of the vessel. This subtraction technique allows extraction of a high-intensity signal from the superimposed background information. The image is thus the result of the differential absorption of X-rays by different tissues.

Inbred strains of animals that are genetically identical except at a single locus, or a few specified loci, so that their known genetic differences are expressed in the same genetic background. A congenic strain is produced by outbreeding a strain and then eliminating the background by many generations of backcrosses while maintaining the desired genetic differences by selection of progeny. (Dorland, 28th ed)

A stricture of the ESOPHAGUS. Most are acquired but can be congenital.

Narrowing of any part of the URETHRA. It is characterized by decreased urinary stream and often other obstructive voiding symptoms.
