Drug resistance among gram-negative bacteria is a worldwide challenge. Due to the importance of drug-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae and Escherichia coli strains in hospital-acquired infections, we aimed to determine the phenotypic and genotypic characteristics of ESBLs, AmpC and Carbapenemase-producing isolates, obtained from hospitalized patients in Tehran and Ilam, Iran.

Our aim was to determine the epidemiology of bloodstream infections (BSIs) by carbapenemase-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae (CP-Kp) after the introduction of ceftazidime/avibactam in January 2018 amon...
Bacteremia caused by Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase-producing strains (Kp-KPC) is associated with high mortality. The hypothesis of our work is that there was an increase in the levels of resista...
The accumulation of multiple inherent and acquired resistance mechanisms in Acinetobacter spp. results in emergence of "pandrug resistant" strains which is one of the major concerns in healthcare sect...
The aim of this study was to investigate the mechanisms of beta-lactam-resistance and the clonal relatedness of carbapenem-nonsusceptible Klebsiella pneumoniae and Escherichia coli isolates, collected...
An observational two-center case-control study exploring the clinical impact of double-carbapenem use in a population of critically il patients with severe carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella ...
The purposes of this study are: 1. To estimate the prevalence of extended spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL) and/or AmpC among Enterobacteriaceae which cause community-onset urinary trac...
Impact of Specific Antimicrobials and MIC Values on the Outcome of Bloodstream Infections Due to ESBL- or Carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae in Solid Organ Transplantation: an Observational Multinational Study.
Main objective: to observationally assess the efficacy and safety of different antimicrobials in BSI due to ESBL or carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae in SOT. Secondary objectives...
The hypothesis to be tested in this trial is that the different epidemiologic (including racial differences) and phenotypic manifestations exhibited by Trichomonas clinical isolates during...
This is a retrospective chart review. This proposed study aims to document the risk factors for quinolone resistance in bloodstream isolates of Klebsiella species. Additionally, the adequ...
The phenotypic and genotypic differences among individuals in a population.
The origin, production or development of cancer through genotypic and phenotypic changes which upset the normal balance between cell proliferation and cell death. Carcinogenesis generally requires a constellation of steps, which may occur quickly or over a period of many years.
Gram-negative, non-motile, capsulated, gas-producing rods found widely in nature and associated with urinary and respiratory infections in humans.
Antigens expressed on the cell membrane of T-lymphocytes during differentiation, activation, and normal and neoplastic transformation. Their phenotypic characterization is important in differential diagnosis and studies of thymic ontogeny and T-cell function.
Infections with bacteria of the genus KLEBSIELLA.
Pneumonia (bronchopneumonia, lobar pneumonia and double pneumonia) is inflammation (swelling) of the tissue in one or both of your lungs. It is usually caused by an pneumococcal infection caused by bacteria called Streptococcus pneumoniae. However,...
Pharmacy is the science and technique of preparing as well as dispensing drugs and medicines. It is a health profession that links health sciences with chemical sciences and aims to ensure the safe and effective use of pharmaceutical drugs. The scope of...
