Owing to the shortage of hematopoietic stem cells from matched sibling donors (MSD) and matched unrelated donors (MUD), the number of patients undergoing haploidentical allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) has rapidly increased. Despite a comparable overall survival (OS) and leukemia-free survival using this approach, some evidence suggests that haploidentical allo-HSCT recipients have a higher incidence of cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection, though this has not been clearly established.

Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, especially haploidentical HSCT, may improve long-term survival for high-risk pediatric patients with Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia in the tyrosine kinase inhibitor era.
The role of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT), particularly haploidentical (haplo)-HSCT, in pediatric patients with Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic le...
Allogeneic stem-cell transplantation (SCT) is a well-established immunotherapeutic strategy for multiple myeloma (MM) with a potent and often sustained graft-vs.-myeloma effect. This multicenter inves...
Post-Cy administration for GVHD prophylaxis in unmanipulated haploidentical HSCT has resulted in improved outcomes in recent years. Studies in children are lacking and accordingly we present the outco...
Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection is a major complication after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, but is suggested to exert a strong anti-leukemia effect owing in part to alterations i...
Fever is a common early complication after infusion of stem cells in patients undergoing T-replete HLA haploidentical transplantation using post-transplant cyclophosphamide (PTCY). We analyzed the rec...
The MAC-HAPLO-MUD trial is a randomized prospective phase III trial comparing HLA 10/10 matched unrelated donor and haploidentical allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation after ...
The aim of the study is to investigate the feasibility and toxicity of allogeneic haploidentical or unrelated transplantation with CD3/CD19 depleted stem cells associated with a reduced or...
The purpose of this study is to compare the incidences of GVHD in haploidentical hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients receiving different dose of antithymocyte globulin (ATG) for ...
The aim of the study is to evaluate the efficacy of the prophylactic administration of N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC) in acute leukemia patients with complete remission pre- and post-allotransp...
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have been used in the treatment and prevention of graft-versus host disease (GVHD). In this study the investigators aim to present the efficacy of mesenchymal...
Transfer of HEMATOPOIETIC STEM CELLS from BONE MARROW or BLOOD between individuals within the same species (TRANSPLANTATION, HOMOLOGOUS) or transfer within the same individual (TRANSPLANTATION, AUTOLOGOUS). Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation has been used as an alternative to BONE MARROW TRANSPLANTATION in the treatment of a variety of neoplasms.
The release of stem cells from the bone marrow into the peripheral blood circulation for the purpose of leukapheresis, prior to stem cell transplantation. Hematopoietic growth factors or chemotherapeutic agents often are used to stimulate the mobilization.
The transference of BONE MARROW from one human or animal to another for a variety of purposes including HEMATOPOIETIC STEM CELL TRANSPLANTATION or MESENCHYMAL STEM CELL TRANSPLANTATION.
Transplantation of STEM CELLS collected from the fetal blood remaining in the UMBILICAL CORD and the PLACENTA after delivery. Included are the HEMATOPOIETIC STEM CELLS.
Transplantation of stem cells collected from the peripheral blood. It is a less invasive alternative to direct marrow harvesting of hematopoietic stem cells. Enrichment of stem cells in peripheral blood can be achieved by inducing mobilization of stem cells from the BONE MARROW.
