Aspirin plus Clopidogrel versus Aspirin Mono-Therapy for Ischemic Stroke: A Meta-Analysis.

Summary of "Aspirin plus Clopidogrel versus Aspirin Mono-Therapy for Ischemic Stroke: A Meta-Analysis."

Stroke is a common condition after a transient ischemic attack (TIA) or minor ischemic stroke (IS). Adding clopidogrel to aspirin may yield more beneficial outcomes than aspirin mono-therapy; meanwhile, the risk of bleeding in the acute phase remains poorly understood. Therefore, there is increasing emphasis on the risks and benefits of clopidogrel with aspirin compared with aspirin mono-therapy in an effort to treat TIA/IS.

Aspirin better than clopidogrel on major adverse cardiovascular events reduction after ischemic stroke: A retrospective nationwide cohort study.

Several clinical trials reported that clopidogrel was superior to aspirin in secondary stroke prevention by reducing the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE). We aimed to compare the eff...

Frequency of aspirin non responsiveness in patients of ischemic heart disease.

Aspirin is widely used as an antiplatelet agent . Many patients have been noticed with recurrence of major ischemic events in- spite of antiplatelet therapy. The objective of this study was to determi...

Unique Effect of Aspirin Therapy on Biomarkers in Aspirin-Exacerbated Respiratory Disease: A Prospective Trial.

Daily high-dose aspirin therapy benefits many patients with aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease but provides no benefit for aspirin-tolerant asthmatics. Type 2 inflammation characterizes aspirin-e...

Endoscopic sinus surgery improves aspirin treatment response in aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease patients.

Aspirin desensitization and treatment benefits most patients with aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease (AERD), although some patients fail therapy. Our objective was to assess whether recent endosc...

Efficacy and safety of combination of tadalafil and aspirin versus tadalafil or aspirin alone in patients with vascular erectile dysfunction: a comparative randomized prospective study.

We aimed to investigate the efficacy and safety of tadalafil, aspirin, and tadalafil + aspirin combination therapy in vascular erectile dysfunction (VED).

Antiplatelet Therapy in Acute Mild-Moderate Ischemic Stroke

The risk of early recurrence or progression of acute ischemic stroke is very high, even in patients treated with aspirin. The Chance study show that clopidogrel plus aspirin treatment redu...

Clopidogrel With Aspirin in High-risk Patients With Acute Non-disabling Cerebrovascular Events II

The primary objective of this trial is to assess the effects of ticagrelor plus aspirin versus clopidogrel plus aspirin on reducing the 3-month risk of any stroke (both ischemic and hemorr...

Aspirin Versus Aspirin + ClopidogRel as Antithrombotic Treatment Following Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation With the Edwards Valve.

The purpose of this study is to compare aspirin/acetylsalicylic acid+ clopidogrel with aspirin/acetylsalicylic acid alone as antithrombotic treatment following TAVI for the prevention of m...

Double Randomization of a Monitoring Adjusted Antiplatelet Treatment Versus a Common Antiplatelet Treatment for DES Implantation, and Interruption Versus Continuation of Double Antiplatelet Therapy

Our first hypothesis is that dose adjustment of aspirin and clopidogrel based on biological monitoring reduces the rate of severe cardiovascular complications compared to a conventional st...

Clopidogrel/Aspirin Interaction Study

This study will explore the effect of different doses of aspirin on the effects of double-dose or standard dose clopidogrel.

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

A drug combination of aspirin and dipyridamole that functions as a PLATELET AGGREGATION INHIBITOR, used to prevent THROMBOSIS and STROKE in TRANSIENT ISCHEMIC ATTACK patients.

A non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent that is less effective than equal doses of ASPIRIN in relieving pain and reducing fever. However, individuals who are hypersensitive to ASPIRIN may tolerate sodium salicylate. In general, this salicylate produces the same adverse reactions as ASPIRIN, but there is less occult gastrointestinal bleeding. (From AMA Drug Evaluations Annual, 1992, p120)

Asthmatic adverse reaction (e.g., BRONCHOCONSTRICTION) to conventional NSAIDS including aspirin use.

The prototypical analgesic used in the treatment of mild to moderate pain. It has anti-inflammatory and antipyretic properties and acts as an inhibitor of cyclooxygenase which results in the inhibition of the biosynthesis of prostaglandins. Aspirin also inhibits platelet aggregation and is used in the prevention of arterial and venous thrombosis. (From Martindale, The Extra Pharmacopoeia, 30th ed, p5)

A salicylate derivative and anti-inflammatory analgesic with actions and side effects similar to those of ASPIRIN.
