Fate of free fat grafts with or without adipogenic adjuncts to enhance graft outcomes.

Revascularization of Free Skin Grafts Overlying Modified Hughes Tarsoconjunctival Flaps Monitored Using Laser-Based Techniques.

It has recently been shown that the flap pedicle does not supply blood to a tarsoconjunctival graft in the modified Hughes procedure in patients. This raises questions concerning the rate of revascula...

MSC-derived sEVs enhance patency and inhibit calcification of synthetic vascular grafts by immunomodulation in a rat model of hyperlipidemia.

Vascular grafts often exhibit low patency rates in clinical settings due to the pathological environment within the patients requiring the surgery. Mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)-derived small extracellu...

Phytanic acid activates PPARα to promote beige adipogenic differentiation of preadipocytes.

A better understanding of the mechanisms of beige and brown adipogenesis is needed for developing strategies to prevent and treat obesity and associated metabolic disorders. Phytanic acid (PA) exists ...

Venous bypass grafts versus arteriovenous loops as recipient vessels for microvascular anastomosis in lower extremity reconstructions: A matched-pair analysis.

Limb salvage in patients with peripheral vascular disease (PVD) and soft tissue defects often requires both a restoration of blood flow to the lower extremity and soft tissue coverage. Outcomes of fre...

Adipogenic Capacity as a Mediator of Weight Gain

To demonstrate differences in response of subjects with a high, low or medium predisposition for weight regain after weight reduction in terms of: body composition; energy expenditure; phy...

To Compare Free Gingival Grafts and Connective Tissue Grafts Around Implants With Lack of Keratinized Mucosa

This study will compare two commonly used soft tissue grafting techniques (free gingival graft, FGG vs. connective tissue graft, CTG) to augment the soft tissue around dental implants with...

Intraperitoneal Delivery of Adaptive Natural Killer (NK) Cells (FATE-NK100) With Intraperitoneal Int

This is a Phase I trial to determine the maximum tolerated dose/maximum feasible dose (MTD/MFD) of a single infusion of FATE-NK100 via intra-peritoneal catheter in women with recurrent ova...

Effectiveness Comparison of Skin Micro-grafts vs Meshed Split Thickness Skin Grafts

This is a double-blind randomized controlled clinical trial, that compares the percentage of epithelialization of skin defects using the conventional meshed split thickness skin grafts vs ...

Open Label NK Cell Infusion (FATE-NK100) With Subq IL-2 in Adults With AML

This is a Phase I open-label dose escalation study of a single infusion of FATE-NK100 and a short course of subcutaneous interleukin-2 (IL-2) administered after lymphodepleting chemotherap...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

Intervention that relies on free expression of emotions with coaching to enhance awareness of emotional experiences.

Computer systems utilized as adjuncts in the treatment of disease.

Genetic loci responsible for the encoding of histocompatibility antigens other than those encoded by the MAJOR HISTOCOMPATIBILITY COMPLEX. The antigens encoded by these genes are often responsible for graft rejection in cases where histocompatibility has been established by standard tests. The location of some of these loci on the X and Y chromosomes explains why grafts from males to females may be rejected while grafts from females to males are accepted. In the mouse roughly 30 minor histocompatibility loci have been recognized, comprising more than 500 genes.

Intravenous injections of sodium amytal or sodium pentothal to induce a state in which the patient is more relaxed and communicative. Narcosuggestion, narcosynthesis, and narcoanalysis are therapeutic processes using these drug adjuncts.

Highly reactive molecules with an unsatisfied electron valence pair. Free radicals are produced in both normal and pathological processes. They are proven or suspected agents of tissue damage in a wide variety of circumstances including radiation, damage from environment chemicals, and aging. Natural and pharmacological prevention of free radical damage is being actively investigated.
