Neonatal hypoglycemia is a common and treatable risk factor for neurological impairment. Real-time continuous glucose monitoring (RT-CGM) can show glucose concentrations in real time. Using an alarm of RT-CGM, physicians can notice and intervene in hypoglycemia. However, no reports have evaluated the reliability of RT-CGM at low glucose levels in infants. This study aimed to investigate the difference between blood glucose (BG) and RT-CGM sensor data at low glucose levels, and to consider the optimum method of using a hypoglycemic alarm in infants.

Blood glucose sensing is very important for diabetic management. It is shifting towards a continuous glucose monitoring because such a system can alleviate patient suffering and provide a large number...
Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), a severe complication of diabetes mellitus with potentially fatal consequences, is characterized by hyperglycemia and metabolic acidosis due to the accumulation of ketone ...
Our ability to monitor blood glucose levels has become increasingly accurate over the last few decades. Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technology now allows providers and patients the ability to ...
Continuous glucose monitoring tends to replace capillary blood glucose (CBG) self-monitoring. Our aim was to determine the agreement between CBG and a flash glucose monitoring system (Flash-GMS) in tr...
Hypoglycemia is common in very low birth weight neonates and may have adverse effects. Sixty preterm infants were monitored using continuous glucose monitoring (CGMS) and capillary techniques during ...
The purpose of this study is to determine whether a real-time continuous glucose monitoring system is able to improve HbA1c in patients suffering from type 1 diabetes compared to conventio...
The main objective of this study is to determine whether real-time continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) for 8 weeks is more efficacious compared to self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG) i...
Demonstrate that usage of RT-CGM (Real time continuous glucose monitoring) reduces the frequency of low CGM-recorded glucose events in patients using MDI (Multiple daily injections) that a...
Real-time continuous glucose monitoring system (CGMS) has been attempted to be used in ICU, but its feasibility, accuracy and confounding factors are controversial.
The purpose of this study is to determine the safety and accuracy of the Real-Time Continuous Glucose monitoring System (RT-CGMS)in measuring glucose in patients scheduled for surgery; bef...
Continuous care and monitoring of newborn infants with life-threatening conditions, in any setting.
Ultrasonography applying the Doppler effect combined with real-time imaging. The real-time image is created by rapid movement of the ultrasound beam. A powerful advantage of this technique is the ability to estimate the velocity of flow from the Doppler shift frequency.
The continuous measurement of physiological processes, blood pressure, heart rate, renal output, reflexes, respiration, etc., in a patient or experimental animal; includes pharmacologic monitoring, the measurement of administered drugs or their metabolites in the blood, tissues, or urine.
Self evaluation of whole blood glucose levels outside the clinical laboratory. A digital or battery-operated reflectance meter may be used. It has wide application in controlling unstable insulin-dependent diabetes.
Simultaneous and continuous monitoring of several parameters during sleep to study normal and abnormal sleep. The study includes monitoring of brain waves, to assess sleep stages, and other physiological variables such as breathing, eye movements, and blood oxygen levels which exhibit a disrupted pattern with sleep disturbances.
Pediatrics is the general medicine of childhood. Because of the developmental processes (psychological and physical) of childhood, the involvement of parents, and the social management of conditions at home and at school, pediatrics is a specialty. With ...
