Summary of "Education, home exercise and supervised exercise for people with hip and knee osteoarthritis as part of a nationwide implementation programme: data from the BOA registry."

To compare the effectiveness of (1) education only (ED), 2) home exercise (HE) and 3) supervised exercise (SE) as provided in a nationally implemented rehabilitation programme (the BOA programme) for patients with hip and knee osteoarthritis (OA). In addition, we analysed whether the effect of the treatments differed based on the joint affected by OA (hip vs knee).

Controlled physical activity, more strenuous than at rest, which is performed in order to allow assessment of physiological functions, particularly cardiovascular and pulmonary, but also aerobic capacity.
