Large distribution of long-lasting insecticidal nets (LLINs) and indoor residual spraying (IRS) contributed to a significant decrease in malarial mortality. Unfortunately, large insecticide resistance in malaria vectors occurred and is a threat to the future use of these control approaches. The purpose of this study was to explore a new approach for vector control. Patches containing Bacillus thuringiensis var. israelensis (Bti) solubilized Cry toxins mixed with sugar were developed and tested in the laboratory with pyrethroid-resistant Anopheles gambiae s.l. using tunnel tests.

The demand for sustainable and eco-friendly control methods of pests and insects is increasing worldwide. From this came the interest in Bacillus thuringiensis, an entomopathogenic bacterium capable o...
Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) biopesticides are an environmentally safe alternative to the management of Plutella xylostella pesticide resistance evolution. We evaluated P. xylostella susceptibility to ...
Pesticide mixtures are increasingly used to fight pest species that developed resistance to pesticides. To assess the pesticide control efficiency and to reduce ecological damage to non-target species...
Toxicity of Bacterial Isolates on Adults of Zaprionus indianus (Diptera: Drosophilidae) and Parasitoids Trichopria anastrephae (Hymenoptera: Diapriidae) and Pachycrepoideus vindemmiae (Hymenoptera: Pteromalidae).
Bacillus thuringiensis (Berliner) has demonstrated potential use in insect pest management. We evaluated the toxicity and sublethal effects of formulations of toxic baits composed of bacterial isolate...
Bacillus species are ubiquitous gram-positive spore-forming organisms. They rarely cause disease in the immunocompetent and are more frequently isolated as a culture contaminant. However, ...
Aim: Evaluating the clinical effects of a Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus megaterium and Bacillus pumulus containing toothpaste, mouthwash and toothbrush cleaner versus a placebo in patients w...
This study aims at evaluating efficacy Clostridum Butyricum Capsule and Bacillus Coagulans Tablets in H. pylori eradication. It is hypothesized that Clostridum Butyricum Capsule , Bacillus...
The purpose of this study is to determine the efficacy of Bacillus subtilis DE111® probiotic for regulation of bowel movements.
This study tested the effects of resistant starch type 4 on blood sugar and hunger in young adults with Type 2 diabetes.
A species of gram-positive bacteria which may be pathogenic for certain insects. It is used for the biological control of the Gypsy moth.
Heat and stain resistant, metabolically inactive bodies formed within the vegetative cells of bacteria of the genera Bacillus and Clostridium.
Viruses whose host is Bacillus. Frequently encountered Bacillus phages include bacteriophage phi 29 and bacteriophage phi 105.
A highly chlorinated polycyclic hydrocarbon insecticide whose large number of chlorine atoms makes it resistant to degradation. It has been shown to be toxic to mammals and causes abnormal cellular changes in laboratory animals.
Strains of the genus Enterococcus that are resistant to the antibiotic VANCOMYCIN. The enterococci become resistant by acquiring plasmids carrying genes for VANCOMYCIN RESISTANCE.
Within medicine, nutrition (the study of food and the effect of its components on the body) has many different roles. Appropriate nutrition can help prevent certain diseases, or treat others. In critically ill patients, artificial feeding by tubes need t...
