Nitric Oxide in Pulmonary Hypoplasia: Results from the European iNO Registry.

Summary of "Nitric Oxide in Pulmonary Hypoplasia: Results from the European iNO Registry."

The aim of this work was to describe treatment response and outcome data for preterm infants with pulmonary hypoplasia treated with inhaled nitric oxide (iNO). We hypothesised that an acute oxygenation response to iNO would be associated with survival.

Inhaled nitric oxide to control platelet hyper-reactivity in patients with acute submassive pulmonary embolism.

We test if inhaled nitric oxide (NO) attenuates platelet functional and metabolic hyper-reactivity in subjects with submassive pulmonary embolism (PE).

Postoperative Inhaled Nitric Oxide Does Not Decrease Length of Stay in Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Admissions.

Pulmonary hypertension is one of the most challenging complications in congenital heart surgery. The purpose of this study was to characterize inhaled nitric oxide administration in children with and ...

Exhaled nitric oxide is not a biomarker for idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension or for treatment efficacy.

Idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension (IPAH) is a fatal illness. Despite many improvements in the treatment of these patients, there is no unique prognostic variable available to track these pati...

Regulation of boar sperm functionality by the nitric oxide synthase/nitric oxide system.

Nitric oxide (NO) is a free radical synthesized mainly by nitric oxide synthases (NOSs). NO regulates many aspects in sperm physiology in different species. However, in vitro studies investigating NOS...

Exhaled Nitric Oxide in Patients with Stable Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease: Clinical Implications of the Use of Inhaled Corticosteroids.

Fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO) is regarded as a potential biomarker for identifying eosinophilic inflammation. We aimed to evaluate the clinical implication of FeNO and its influence on inhale...

Comparison of Inhaled Nitric Oxide Versus Oxygen in Patient Reactivity During Acute Pulmonary Vasodilator Testing

A minimum of 100 patients will be enrolled in the study to demonstrate which diagnostic treatment (oxygen or nitric oxide) is most capable of identifying patients with a reactive pulmonary...

NO Need to Ventilate: A Trial of Non-Invasive Inhaled Nitric Oxide in Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension of the Newborn

The primary objective of the trial is to determine the feasibility and clinical safety and efficacy of non-invasive inhaled nitric oxide in infants with PPHN without significant pulmonary ...

Registry Evaluating Premature and Term-Near-Term Neonates With Pulmonary Hypertension Receiving Inhaled Nitric Oxide

This is a multicenter, prospectively defined, observational registry study evaluating the use of inhaled nitric oxide (INOMAX) in 84 Premature (P) neonates (at least 27 weeks but less than...

Inhaled Nitric Oxide in Pulmonary Embolism

The purpose of the study is to determine if inhaled nitric oxide, a potent and selective pulmonary vasodilator, is beneficial in patients with acute pulmonary embolism causing increased ri...

Inhaled Nitric Oxide (INO) In Hypoxic Respiratory Failure

This Phase 3, Double-blind, Randomized, Placebo controlled, multicenter study is to confirm the efficacy of inhaled nitric oxide for the management of hypoxic respiratory failure associate...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

A free radical gas produced endogenously by a variety of mammalian cells, synthesized from ARGININE by NITRIC OXIDE SYNTHASE. Nitric oxide is one of the ENDOTHELIUM-DEPENDENT RELAXING FACTORS released by the vascular endothelium and mediates VASODILATION. It also inhibits platelet aggregation, induces disaggregation of aggregated platelets, and inhibits platelet adhesion to the vascular endothelium. Nitric oxide activates cytosolic GUANYLATE CYCLASE and thus elevates intracellular levels of CYCLIC GMP.

An NADPH-dependent enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of L-ARGININE and OXYGEN to produce CITRULLINE and NITRIC OXIDE.

A CALCIUM-dependent, constitutively-expressed form of nitric oxide synthase found primarily in NERVE TISSUE.

A CALCIUM-dependent, constitutively-expressed form of nitric oxide synthase found primarily in ENDOTHELIAL CELLS.

A CALCIUM-independent subtype of nitric oxide synthase that may play a role in immune function. It is an inducible enzyme whose expression is transcriptionally regulated by a variety of CYTOKINES.
