Summary of "Evaluation of the Bio-Rad BioPlex 2200 IgM Multiplex Flow Immunoassay."

Toxoplasmosis is routinely diagnosed through detection of -specific antibodies. However, the imperfect specificity of serologic assays is a well-recognized limitation. The new BioPlex 2200 (Bio-Rad Laboratories) , rubella, and cytomegalovirus (ToRC) IgM multiplex flow immunoassay (MFI) received FDA clearance in May 2017. We evaluated the clinical performance of the new IgM and existing IgG portion of this MFI.

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

A disorder characterized by multiple, wide spread cutaneous cysts that often become inflamed and rupture. It is caused by the same mutations in the gene coding for KRT-17 that are causative mutations for Pachyonychia congenita, Type 2. Natal teeth involvement is sometimes associated with steatocystoma multiplex.

Studies determining the effectiveness or value of processes, personnel, and equipment, or the material on conducting such studies. For drugs and devices, CLINICAL TRIALS AS TOPIC; DRUG EVALUATION; and DRUG EVALUATION, PRECLINICAL are available.

The amount of PLASMA that perfuses the KIDNEYS per unit time, approximately 10% greater than effective renal plasma flow (RENAL PLASMA FLOW, EFFECTIVE). It should be differentiated from the RENAL BLOOD FLOW; (RBF), which refers to the total volume of BLOOD flowing through the renal vasculature, while the renal plasma flow refers to the rate of plasma flow (RPF).

A self-evaluation of health status.

A gamma-emitting radionuclide imaging agent used in the evaluation of regional cerebral blood flow and in non-invasive dynamic biodistribution studies and myocardial imaging. It has also been used to label leukocytes in the investigation of inflammatory bowel diseases.
