Mid-trimester uterine artery resistance measured with Doppler sonography is predictive for iatrogenic preterm birth. In view of the emerging association between hypertensive disease in pregnancy and spontaneous preterm birth, we hypothesized that uterine artery resistance could also predict spontaneous preterm birth.

Intraplacental Villous Artery Doppler as an Independent Predictor for Placenta-Mediated Disease and Its Comparison with Uterine Artery Doppler and/or Placental Biochemical Markers in Predictive Models: A Prospective Cohort Study.
To validate intraplacental villous artery (IPVA) Doppler as a predictor for placenta-mediated diseases (PMDs), to compare its predictive value with uterine artery (UtA) Doppler and placental biochemic...
To investigate the prediction capacity for adverse perinatal outcome of abnormal uterine artery Doppler in small-for-gestational age (SGA) fetuses.
Preterm birth is a global public health issue and rates in Puerto Rico are consistently among the highest in the USA. Exposures to environmental contaminants might be a contributing factor.
Preterm birth has previously been linked with cardiovascular disease (CVD) in adulthood. However, associations with lipid disorders (e.g., high cholesterol or triglycerides), which are major risk fact...
The QUiPP algorithm combines cervical length, quantitative fetal fibronectin (qfFN) and medical history to quantify risk of preterm birth. We assessed the utility of QUiPP to inform preterm birth prev...
Study included all pregnant women admitted with threatened preterm labor during the study period. All participants underwent estimation of maternal serum homocysteine level and assessment ...
The purpose of the present study is to evaluate the occurrence of first trimester bleeding among patients with abnormal uterine artery Doppler. A prospective study is designed and two gro...
Use an electrical-inhibition (EI)/uterine pacemaker device similar to an electrical heart pacemaker to deliver a weak electrical current to the human uterus that will rapidly and safely in...
The current study included the singleton pregnancies (without history of previous risk factors), had their homocysteine measured as part of a serum-screening program in addition to uterine...
The Preterm Birth Cohort Study in Guangzhou (PBCSG) aims to explore the impact of genetic and environmental factors including life styles on preterm birth, to examine the interaction effec...
Drugs that prevent preterm labor and immature birth by suppressing uterine contractions (TOCOLYSIS). Agents used to delay premature uterine activity include magnesium sulfate, beta-mimetics, oxytocin antagonists, calcium channel inhibitors, and adrenergic beta-receptor agonists. The use of intravenous alcohol as a tocolytic is now obsolete.
Variation in health status arising from different causal factors to which each birth cohort in a population is exposed as environment and society change.
A parameter usually used in PRENATAL ULTRASONOGRAPHY to measure the length of the uterine neck (CERVIX UTERI). Cervical length or its shortening is used to identify and prevent early cervical opening and PRETERM BIRTH.
In screening and diagnostic tests, the probability that a person with a positive test is a true positive (i.e., has the disease), is referred to as the predictive value of a positive test; whereas, the predictive value of a negative test is the probability that the person with a negative test does not have the disease. Predictive value is related to the sensitivity and specificity of the test.
A branch arising from the internal iliac artery in females, that supplies blood to the uterus.
