Rh-Catalyzed Regioselective Dialkylation of Cage B-H bonds in o-Carboranes: Oxidative Heck Reactions via an Enol Isomerization.

In the presence of a carboxylic acid directing group, Rh-catalyzed regioselective directed dialkylation of B(4,5)-H bonds in carboranes and oxidative coupling with allylic alcohols is reported. This s...

Photochemical Alkene Isomerization for the Synthesis of Polysubstituted Furans and Pyrroles under Neutral Conditions.

A photochemical approach to polysubstituted heterocycles using UV induced alkene isomerization is described. The method allows for the synthesis of disubstituted furans and pyrroles under mild and neu...

Tris(butadiene) Metal Complexes of the First Row Transition Metals Versus Coupling of Butadiene to Eight and Twelve-Carbon Hydrocarbon Chains.

The role that zerovalent nickel plays in catalyzing the trimerization of butadiene to 1,5,9-cyclododecatriene conveys interest in the properties of the tris(butadiene)metal complexes (C4H6)3M. In this...

Controlling the spin-selective absorption with two-dimensional chiral plasmonic gratings.

Spin-selective absorption in a two-dimensional (2D) chiral plasmonic grating is observed by excitation of chiral-dependent plasmonic cavity resonance. For the proposed structures, the incident right-h...

Influence of the cardiac cycle on velocity selective and acceleration selective arterial spin labeling.

In this study, the influence of the cardiac cycle on the amount of label produced by a velocity-selective (VSASL) and acceleration-selective arterial spin labeling (AccASL) module was investigated.

Comparison Between Injection Molded PEEK Framework and Cobalt Chromium Framework in Removable Partial Denture Regarding Retention

This study is aiming to evaluate the retentive forces in PEEK framework RPD compared to Cobalt-Chrome framework RPD during attachment/detachment cycles in mandibular kennedy class I edentu...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

Stable cobalt atoms that have the same atomic number as the element cobalt, but differ in atomic weight. Co-59 is a stable cobalt isotope.

A technique for detecting short-lived reactive FREE RADICALS in biological systems by providing a nitrone or nitrose compound for an addition reaction to occur which produces an ELECTRON SPIN RESONANCE SPECTROSCOPY-detectable aminoxyl radical. In spin trapping, the compound trapping the radical is called the spin trap and the addition product of the radical is identified as the spin adduct. (Free Rad Res Comm 1990;9(3-6):163)

Molecules which contain an atom or a group of atoms exhibiting an unpaired electron spin that can be detected by electron spin resonance spectroscopy and can be bonded to another molecule. (McGraw-Hill Dictionary of Chemical and Technical Terms, 4th ed)

Unstable isotopes of cobalt that decay or disintegrate emitting radiation. Co atoms with atomic weights of 54-64, except 59, are radioactive cobalt isotopes.

Complexes of enzymes that catalyze the covalent attachment of UBIQUITIN to other proteins by forming a peptide bond between the C-terminal GLYCINE of UBIQUITIN and the alpha-amino groups of LYSINE residues in the protein. The complexes play an important role in mediating the selective-degradation of short-lived and abnormal proteins. The complex of enzymes can be broken down into three components that involve activation of ubiquitin (UBIQUITIN-ACTIVATING ENZYMES), conjugation of ubiquitin to the ligase complex (UBIQUITIN-CONJUGATING ENZYMES), and ligation of ubiquitin to the substrate protein (UBIQUITIN-PROTEIN LIGASES).
