Summary of "TERT-rs33963617 and CLPTM1L-rs77518573 reduce the risk of non-small cell lung cancer in Chinese population."

Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have identified 5p15.33 as a susceptible locus for lung cancer. However, for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), low-frequency risk variants in this region have not been systematically studied. We intended to explore the associations between low-frequency variants on 5p15.33 and NSCLC using a next-generation sequencing based approach in this study.

Assessing a single SNP located at TERT/CLPTM1L multi-cancer risk region as a genetic modifier for risk of pancreatic cancer and melanoma in Dutch CDKN2A mutation carriers.

Carriers of pathogenic variants in CDKN2A have a 70% life-time risk of developing melanoma and 15-20% risk of developing pancreatic cancer (PC). In the Netherlands, a 19-bp deletion in exon 2 of CDKN2...

TERT rs10069690 polymorphism and cancers risk: A meta-analysis.

Studies have identified that the telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) gene polymorphism rs10069690 (C>T) is associated with cancer risk, but the results remain inconclusive.

Classifying melanoma by TERT promoter mutational status.

While TERT promoter mutations have been associated with a worsened prognosis in melanoma, the relationship between mutation status and downstream telomerase activity and telomere length remains convol...

ARID1A-SIN3A drives retinoic acid-induced neuroblastoma differentiation by transcriptional repression of TERT.

Aggressive, high-risk neuroblastoma (NB) exhibits an immature differentiation state, profound epigenetic dysregulation and high telomerase activity. It has been suggested that aggressive NB may be tre...

Spectrum of TERT promoter mutations and mechanisms of activation in thyroid cancer.

Reactivation of telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) is an important event in cancer. Two hotspot mutations in the TERT promoter region, c.-124C > T (C228T) and c.-146C > T (C250T), occur in va...
