To investigate the effect of 21-gene recurrence score (RS) on chemotherapy-decision making and prognosis in breast cancer patients aged
The 21-gene recurrence score (RS) assay is prognostic among women with early-stage estrogen receptor-positive (ER+) and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative (HER2-) breast cancer and is u...
The Oncotype DX Breast Cancer Assay is a 21-gene assay used to predict the likelihood of distant recurrence and the benefit of chemotherapy in patients with node-negative, tamoxifen-treated breast can...
A recurrence index for distant recurrence (RI-DR), an 18-gene-based clinical-genomic model, has been developed for early-stage breast cancer (EBC). In this study, we compared the prognosti...
Breast cancer patients with early breast cancer were enrolled according to the inclusion criteria. Baseline characteristics were recorded from medical record system. Recurrence score were ...
This study examines the impact of an additional tumour test called the 21 gene Recurrence Score (OncotypeDx®), a commercially available test on a Medical Oncologist's decision to recommen...
The luminal subtype of breast cancer means hormone receptor positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 negative (HR+HER2-), which counted 60%-70% of breast cancer but achieve low p...
A broad range of prognostic and predictive tools are available for patients with newly diagnosed early stage breast cancer. These range from free and publicly available mathematical algori...
Methods to identify and characterize cancer in the early stages of disease and predict tumor behavior.
A method, developed by Dr. Virginia Apgar, to evaluate a newborn's adjustment to extrauterine life. Five items - heart rate, respiratory effort, muscle tone, reflex irritability, and color - are evaluated 60 seconds after birth and again five minutes later on a scale from 0-2, 0 being the lowest, 2 being normal. The five numbers are added for the Apgar score. A score of 0-3 represents severe distress, 4-7 indicates moderate distress, and a score of 7-10 predicts an absence of difficulty in adjusting to extrauterine life.
The phosphoprotein encoded by the BRCA1 gene (GENE, BRCA1). In normal cells the BRCA1 protein is localized in the nucleus, whereas in the majority of breast cancer cell lines and in malignant pleural effusions from breast cancer patients, it is localized mainly in the cytoplasm. Graphical representation of a statistical model containing scales for calculating the prognostic weight of a value for each individual variable. Nomograms are instruments that can be used to predict outcomes using specific clinical parameters. They use ALGORITHMS that incorporate several variables to calculate the predicted probability that a patient will achieve a particular clinical endpoint.
A fluid-filled closed cavity or sac that is lined by an EPITHELIUM and found in the BREAST. It may appear as a single large cyst in one breast, multifocal, or bilateral in FIBROCYSTIC BREAST DISEASE.
Bioinformatics is the application of computer software and hardware to the management of biological data to create useful information. Computers are used to gather, store, analyze and integrate biological and genetic information which can then be applied...
