Holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP) is an endourologic minimal invasive intervention of benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH). The interest on HoLEP is increasing in the literature. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the learning curve and our preliminary results.

Holmium endoscopic laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP) is a well-established alternative to traditional transurethral resection and open prostatectomy for the treatment of benign prostatic hyper...
To assess the safety, feasibility and treatment outcomes of Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP) as a same day surgery (SDS).
Prostate specific antigen (PSA) screening for prostate cancer has recently been challenged due to poor sensitivity. A number of conditions elevate PSA besides prostate cancer with benign prostatic hyp...
The aim of this study was to compare and investigate the efficacy of using the 5α-reductase inhibitor dutasteride after holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP) to improve postoperative urin...
To determine if preoperative catheter dependence or specimen weight is associated with failed trial without catheter (TWOC) following holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP).
Today, endoscopic enucleation of the prostate (EEP) has been recognized a method of choice for treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) of any size, including large-sized glands (>8...
To compare bipolar plasmakinetic enucleation versus holmium laser enucleation for management of large BPH.
Because of the diversity of the studies and deficiency of those comparing various techniques of EEP for treatment of LUTs secondary to BPO in patients with large sized prostate, we aim in ...
The purpose of this study is to evaluate improvement of symptoms from benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) as assessed by the International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) for prostate artery ...
Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is one of the most common urinary disorders in elderly males. The symptoms of BPH include impaired physiological and functional well-being, which interfe...
A technique utilizing a laser coupled to a catheter which is used in the dilatation of occluded blood vessels. This includes laser thermal angioplasty where the laser energy heats up a metal tip, and direct laser angioplasty where the laser energy directly ablates the occlusion. One form of the latter approach uses an EXCIMER LASER which creates microscopically precise cuts without thermal injury. When laser angioplasty is performed in combination with balloon angioplasty it is called laser-assisted balloon angioplasty (ANGIOPLASTY, BALLOON, LASER-ASSISTED).
Holmium. An element of the rare earth family of metals. It has the atomic symbol Ho, atomic number 67, and atomic weight 164.93.
Treatment using irradiation with LASER light of low power intensity so that the effects are not due to heat, as in LASER THERAPY. These non-thermal effects are thought to be mediated by a photochemical reaction that alters CELL MEMBRANE PERMEABILITY, leading to increased mRNA synthesis and CELL PROLIFERATION. Low-level laser therapy has been used for a wide variety of conditions, but most frequently for wound healing and pain control.
Proteins secreted by the prostate gland. The major secretory proteins from the human prostate gland include PROSTATE-SPECIFIC ANTIGEN, prostate-specific acid phosphatase, prostate-specific membrane antigen, and prostate-specific protein-94.
A glycoprotein that is a kallikrein-like serine proteinase and an esterase, produced by epithelial cells of both normal and malignant prostate tissue. It is an important marker for the diagnosis of prostate cancer.
Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)
An enlarged prostate (benign prostatic enlargement (BPE) or benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)) is common in men after the age of about 50. Having an enlarged prostate does not mean you have cancer. In some cases, an enlarged prostate can cause the ...
