Occult metastases are common in patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) which is why elective neck dissection, adjuvant radiotherapy or watchful waiting have been treatment options after surgical removal of the primary tumour. Sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB), has lately emerged as a novel possibility in treatment planning. Even though the SLNB technique is constantly improving, it has not yet been firmly established in the assessment of head and neck cancer.

Ten to fifty percent of high-risk cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma may potentially metastasize. However, the concept of sentinel lymph node biopsy remains controversial for cutaneous squamous cell ca...
In head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) 30% of cN0 patients have occult metastasis. LN invasion is a major prognostic factor. Sentinel lymph node (SLN) is an option for cN0 neck management. O...
For patients with sentinel node positive melanoma (SNPM), randomized trials, first reported in 2015, show no benefit for routine completion lymph node dissection (CLND) in selected patients. This stud...
This review provides historical and current data to support the role of imaging-based axillary lymph node staging and sentinel lymph node biopsy as the standard of care for axillary management in wome...
The purpose of this study is to evaluate a less invasive procedure for the evaluation of the inguinal (groin) nodes in patients with a primary squamous cell carcinoma of the vulva. Each pa...
Sentinel lymph node biopsy（SLNB） is an established way of predicting axillary nodal metastasis in early breast cancer. We aim to determinethe，in a prospective randomized, controlled ...
Squamous cell carcinoma of the VADS represents the majority of cancers in ENT. Metastatic lymph node involvement is an important prognostic factor. In N0 patients clinically and scanograph...
RATIONALE: Diagnostic procedures, such as lymph node mapping and sentinel lymph node identification, performed before and during surgery, may improve the ability to detect lymph node metas...
The presence of lymph node metastasis is an important factor in determining the appropriate treatment plan in patients with OSCC. However, detection of lymph node metastases by means of cu...
First lymph node to receive drainage from the primary tumor. SENTINEL LYMPH NODE BIOPSY is performed to determine early METASTASIS status because cancer cells may appear first in the sentinel node.
A diagnostic procedure used to determine whether LYMPHATIC METASTASIS has occurred. The sentinel lymph node is the first lymph node to receive drainage from a neoplasm.
Malignant lymphoma in which the lymphomatous cells are clustered into identifiable nodules within the LYMPH NODES. The nodules resemble to some extent the GERMINAL CENTER of lymph node follicles and most likely represent neoplastic proliferation of lymph node-derived follicular center B-LYMPHOCYTES.
An acute, febrile, mucocutaneous condition accompanied by swelling of cervical lymph nodes in infants and young children. The principal symptoms are fever, congestion of the ocular conjunctivae, reddening of the lips and oral cavity, protuberance of tongue papillae, and edema or erythema of the extremities.
The local lymph node assay (LLNA) is an alternative method for the identification of chemicals that have the ability to cause skin sensitization and allergic contact dermatitis. Endpoints have been established so fewer animals are required and less painful procedures are used.
There are three main types of skin cancer: basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and malignant melanoma. Basal cell carcinoma Basal cell carcinoma, or BCC, is a cancer of the basal cells at the bottom of the epidermis. It’s very common ...
