The SEL-I-METRY trial (EudraCT No 2015-002269-47) is the first multicentre trial to investigate the role ofI andI SPECT/CT-based tumour dosimetry to predict response to radioiodine therapy. Standardis...
The management of radioiodine refractory thyroid cancers (RAIR TC) is challenging for the clinician. Tyrosine kinase inhibitors classically prescribed in this setting can fail due to primary or acquir...
A series of iodinated ligands for the SPECT imaging of 5-HT receptors was designed starting from the previously reported hit MR-26132. We focused on the modulation of the piperidine-containing lateral...
Quantitative yttrium-90 (Y-90) SPECT imaging is challenging due to the nature of Y-90, an almost pure beta emitter that is associated with a continuous spectrum of bremsstrahlung photons that have a r...
This study was conducted to investigate the dose-response characteristics of radioiodine on salivary glands and to investigate the mechanism responsible for radioiodine-induced salivary glands toxicit...
This study evaluates SPECT image data acquired from Spectrum Dynamics' multi-purpose CZT SPECT camera. All subjects will undergo routine clinical Anger SPECT imaging and an additional SPEC...
The purpose of this study is to determine whether higher doses of radioiodine increase treatment efficacy in severe Graves' disease.
Bone scintigraphy is currently a reference test in the initial staging of cancer. Bone scintigraphy historically consists in a planar whole-body scintigraphy (WBS). SPECT/CT has been shown...
Patients with biochemically confirmed primary hyperparathyroidism and non-localizing SPECT-CT exam within the past year will be included. Subjects will be treated with calcitonin to lower ...
The investigators aim to address this issue with novel image quantification methods using CZT-based SPECT, which is capable of dynamic data acquisition and therefore feasible for the quant...
Signs and symptoms of higher cortical dysfunction caused by organic conditions. These include certain behavioral alterations and impairments of skills involved in the acquisition, processing, and utilization of knowledge or information.
A method of computed tomography that uses radionuclides which emit a single photon of a given energy. The camera is rotated 180 or 360 degrees around the patient to capture images at multiple positions along the arc. The computer is then used to reconstruct the transaxial, sagittal, and coronal images from the 3-dimensional distribution of radionuclides in the organ. The advantages of SPECT are that it can be used to observe biochemical and physiological processes as well as size and volume of the organ. The disadvantage is that, unlike positron-emission tomography where the positron-electron annihilation results in the emission of 2 photons at 180 degrees from each other, SPECT requires physical collimation to line up the photons, which results in the loss of many available photons and hence degrades the image.
Reciprocal action of two vertebrate photoreceptor cells (RODS AND CONES). Rod-cone interaction occurs during MESOPIC VISION in which both rods and cones are active in light transduction to the VISUAL CORTEX. Such interaction can influence visual sensitivity and luminous efficiency.
An iodine-containing compound used in pyelography as a radiopaque medium. If labeled with radioiodine, it can be used for studies of renal function.
The status or condition of a person over whom any or all of the powers attaching to the right of ownership are exercised. The slave trade is all acts involved in the capture, acquisition or disposal of persons with intent to reduce them to enslavement; all acts involved in the acquisition of enslaved persons with a view to selling or exchanging them; all acts of disposal by sale or exchange of persons acquired with a view to being sold or exchanged, and, in general, every act of trade or transport of slaves. The thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland in the neck, just above thecollarbone and is an endocrine gland that make hormones. These Thyroid hormones control the rate of many activities in the body, including how fast the body burns calories and how fast th...
