Summary of "Quantitative analysis of macular and peripapillary microvasculature in adults with anisometropic amblyopia."

The aim of this study was to compare the macular and peripapillary capillary vessel density (CVD) and foveal avascular zone (FAZ) in amblyopic eyes of adults with their fellow eyes and with eyes of healthy controls using optical coherence tomography-angiography (OCT-A).

FEATURES OF THE MACULAR AND PERIPAPILLARY CHOROID AND CHORIOCAPILLARIS IN EYES WITH NONEXUDATIVE AGE-RELATED MACULAR DEGENERATION.

We investigated macular and peripapillary choroidal thickness (CT) and flow voids in the choriocapillaris in eyes with nonexudative age-related macular degeneration.

Early macular and peripapillary vasculature dropout in active thyroid eye disease.

To compare macular and peripapillary vasculatures in active thyroid eye disease (TED), not active not compressive (NANC) TED, and control eyes.

Association between peripapillary scleral deformation and choroidal microvascular circulation in glaucoma.

Peripapillary vessel density, which is reduced in eyes with glaucoma, has been proposed as a diagnostic tool for the desease and peripapillary choroidal microvasculature dropout(MvD) is considered one...

Vitrectomy with peripapillary internal limiting membrane peeling for macular retinoschisis associated with normal-tension glaucoma.

Although vitrectomy has been reported to be effective for the treatment of macular retinoschisis associated with glaucoma in a few case series, the surgical techniques have yet to be established. This...

Topographic Distribution of Contractile Protein in the Human Macular Microvasculature.

We studied the topographic distribution of contractile protein in different orders of the human macular microvasculature to further understanding of the sites for capillary blood flow regulation.

The investigators have developed an image analysis method that can predict the likelihood that a patient with age related macular degeneration (AMD) will progress within 1 year, based on c...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

A form of MACULAR DEGENERATION also known as dry macular degeneration marked by occurrence of a well-defined progressive lesion or atrophy in the central part of the RETINA called the MACULA LUTEA. It is distinguishable from WET MACULAR DEGENERATION in that the latter involves neovascular exudates.

Locations, on the GENOME, of GENES or other genetic elements that encode or control the expression of a quantitative trait (QUANTITATIVE TRAIT, HERITABLE).

Works consisting of studies using a quantitative method of combining the results of independent studies (usually drawn from the published literature) and synthesizing summaries and conclusions which may be used to evaluate therapeutic effectiveness, plan new studies, etc. It is often an overview of clinical trials. It is usually called a meta-analysis by the author or sponsoring body and should be differentiated from reviews of literature.

Degenerative changes in the RETINA usually of older adults which results in a loss of vision in the center of the visual field (the MACULA LUTEA) because of damage to the retina. It occurs in dry and wet forms.

The application of STATISTICS to biological systems and organisms involving the retrieval or collection, analysis, reduction, and interpretation of qualitative and quantitative data.
