Integrated paired-end enhancer profiling and whole-genome sequencing reveals recurrent and enhancer hijacking in primary gastric adenocarcinoma.

Genomic structural variations (SVs) causing rewiring of -regulatory elements remain largely unexplored in gastric cancer (GC). To identify SVs affecting enhancer elements in GC (), we integrated epige...

Landscape of Enhancer-Enhancer Cooperative Regulation during Human Cardiac Commitment.

Although accumulating evidence has demonstrated the key roles of enhancers in gene expression regulation, the contribution of genome-wide enhancer-enhancer interactions to developmental decisions rema...

Detailed Functional Characterization of a Waist-Hip Ratio Locus in 7p15.2 Defines an Enhancer Controlling Adipocyte Differentiation.

We combined CAGE sequencing in human adipocytes during differentiation with data from genome-wide association studies to identify an enhancer in the SNX10 locus on chromosome 7, presumably involved in...

Assessing the clinical impact of CYP2C9 pharmacogenetic variation on phenytoin prescribing practice and patient response in an integrated health system.

To assess the impact of CYP2C9 variation on phenytoin patient response and clinician prescribing practice where genotype was unknown during treatment.

Enhancer Domains Predict Gene Pathogenicity and Inform Gene Discovery in Complex Disease.

Non-coding transcriptional regulatory elements are critical for controlling the spatiotemporal expression of genes. Here, we demonstrate that the sizes and number of enhancers linked to a gene reflect...

The present study examines the impact of oxytocin (OXT) and Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT) on the development of language, social, and play skills in young children with Autism Spectrum ...

Impact of Chronic Treatment by β1-adrenergic Antagonists on Nociceptive-Level (NOL) Index Variation After a Standardized Noxious Stimulus Under General Anesthesia: an Observational Study.

The aim of the present study is to investigate the effect of chronic treatment with β1-adrenergic antagonist on the NOL index variation, the heart rate variation and the mean blood pressu...

Variation of Progesterone in IVF Cycles

to examine if a natural daytime variation in progesterone levels may explain parts of the inconsistent findings from studies reporting divergent results concerning this matter and will be ...

NMDA Enhancer for the Treatment of Mild Alzheimer's Disease

NMDA neurotransmission plays an important role in learning and memory. NMDA receptors (NMDAR) were found to decrease in the frontal lobe and hippocampus of Alzheimer's disease (AD). This s...

Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) as a Cognitive Enhancer for Patients With Alzheimers Disease

The purpose of this study is to investigate transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) as a cognitive enhancer for patients with Alzheimer disease. Transcranial direct current stimula...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

A CCAAT-enhancer-binding protein found in LIVER; ADIPOSE TISSUE; INTESTINES; LUNG; ADRENAL GLANDS; PLACENTA; OVARY and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (LEUKOCYTES, MONONUCLEAR). Experiments with knock-out mice have demonstrated that CCAAT-enhancer binding protein-alpha is essential for the functioning and differentiation of HEPATOCYTES and ADIPOCYTES.

A method of analyzing the variation in utilization of health care in small geographic or demographic areas. It often studies, for example, the usage rates for a given service or procedure in several small areas, documenting the variation among the areas. By comparing high- and low-use areas, the analysis attempts to determine whether there is a pattern to such use and to identify variables that are associated with and contribute to the variation.

A CCAAT-enhancer binding protein that is induced by DNA DAMAGE and growth arrest. It serves as a dominant negative inhibitor of other CCAAT-enhancer binding proteins.

A class of proteins that were originally identified by their ability to bind the DNA sequence CCAAT. The typical CCAAT-enhancer binding protein forms dimers and consists of an activation domain, a DNA-binding basic region, and a leucine-rich dimerization domain (LEUCINE ZIPPERS). CCAAT-BINDING FACTOR is structurally distinct type of CCAAT-enhancer binding protein consisting of a trimer of three different subunits.

The failure by the observer to measure or identify a phenomenon accurately, which results in an error. Sources for this may be due to the observer's missing an abnormality, or to faulty technique resulting in incorrect test measurement, or to misinterpretation of the data. Two varieties are inter-observer variation (the amount observers vary from one another when reporting on the same material) and intra-observer variation (the amount one observer varies between observations when reporting more than once on the same material).
