Accessible PCPs were defined as those located within 30-minute travel from patient locat...

The Drivers and Impacts of Selling Soil for Brick Making in Bangladesh.

Soil degradation is an important threat to sustainable agriculture. In Bangladesh, brick production contributes to soil loss as the country relies on clay-rich soil for brick making. A team ...

DARK Classics in Chemical Neuroscience: Phencyclidine (PCP).

Phencyclidine (PCP, "angel dust", an arylcyclohexylamine) was the first non-natural, man-made illicit drug of abuse, and was coined 'the most dangerous drug in America" in the late 1970s (amidst sensational horror stories of the drug's effects); however, few other illicit drugs have had such a significant and broad impact on society - both good and bad. Originally developed as a new class of anesthetic, PCP-derived psychosis gave way to the PCP hypothesis of schizophrenia (later coined the NMDA receptor hyp...

Reconstruction of female heterogamety from admixture of XX-XY and ZZ-ZW sex-chromosome systems within a frog species.

Sex-determining mechanisms change repeatedly throughout evolution and it is difficult to track this continual process. The Japanese soil-frog Glandirana rugosa is a remarkable evolutionary witness to the ongoing process of the evolution of sex-determining modes. The two geographic groups, designated XY and Neo-ZW, have homologous sex chromosomes, yet display opposite types of sex-chromosomes, XX-XY and ZZ-ZW, respectively. These two groups are sympatric at the edges of their respective ranges in Central Jap...
