Heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT) is an adverse reaction to heparin characterized by thrombocytopenia and thrombotic complications. Previous studies have shown immunity to PF4/heparin occurs early in life even before heparin exposure; however, the immunogenesis of HIT is not well characterized.
