Female sex workers (FSWs) in many settings have restricted access to sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services. We piloted it over 18 months and then assessed its performance.
To explore whether health outcomes are influenced by both governmental social services spending and hospital provision of community health services.

It represents a contract between the government and an NGP, detailing the mechanisms and conditions by which the latter should provide health care on behalf of the government. Contracting out is intended to improve the delivery and use of healthcare services. This Review updates a Cochrane Review fi...
The public-private mix in the Brazilian health system favors double coverage of health services for individuals with private health plans and may aggravate inequities in the use of services. The aim of this study was to describe trends in the use of medical and dental services and associations with schooling and private health coverage. Data were obtained from a national household survey with representative samples in the years 1998, 2003, 2008, and 2013. The study described trends in the use of health serv...

Maternal delivery is the costliest event during pregnancy, especially if a complicated delivery occurs that requires emergency hospital services. A health financing scheme or program that covers comprehensive maternal services, including specialized hospital services in the benefits health package, enhances maternal survival and improves financial risk protection.

Healthcare Social Question Answering (SQA) services provide an open and free way to share knowledge and experience about health related enquires. Examples of healthcare SQA services are MedHelp, BabyHub and Drugs.com. The quality and the source of the questions and answers vary widely. Hence, we work towards identifying the factors that affect the quality of answers shared on SQA services. This paper thus facilitates the reuse of archived answers in health care SQA services.
Recent changes to US reimbursement policies are increasingly holding providers financially accountable for patients' health. Providing nonmedical services in conjunction with primary care-known as wraparound services-is one strategy to improve patient outcomes and reduce overall health care spending. These services leverage additional providers to address patients' social determinants of health. Eskenazi Health-an Indianapolis, Indiana, safety-net provider-introduced wraparound services at its federally qua...
Child trafficking is the recruitment and movement of people aged younger than 18 for the purposes of exploitation. Research on the mental health of trafficked children is limited, and little is known about the use of mental health services by this group. Mental ill-health is a public health threat that is prevalent throughout the United States. Tens of millions of Americans have been diagnosed along the continuum of mental ill-health, and many more millions of family members and friends are indirectly affected by the pervasiveness of mental ill-health. Issues such as access and the societal stigma related to mental health issues serve as deterrents to patients receiving their necessary care. However, technological advances have shown the potential to increa...
Although child welfare caseworkers are responsible for facilitating mental health services access for maltreated children, little is known about caseworkers' decisions to refer children to services. We aimed to identify factors associated with caseworker referral of children to mental health services after a maltreatment investigation. We analyzed data from 1956 children 2-17 years old from the Second National Survey of Child and Adolescent Well-being. We examined associations of children's predisposing, en...
A prevailing model for mental health care for youth and families is to provide services within a "psychopathology" focused framework. This approach can compound problems for youth by imparting negative labels on them, and may be associated with iatrogenic impacts of interventions (e.g., stigmatization, lowered self-efficacy, dependency). This study assessed perceptions of the term "psychopathology" among 486 youth aged 18-25, with 39% of these youth receiving prior mental health services. Results indicated ...

Rural health houses constitute a major provider of some primary health services in the villages of Iran. Given the challenges of providing health services in rural areas, health houses should be established based on the criteria of health network systems (HNSs). The value of these criteria and their precedence over others have not yet been thoroughly investigated. The present study was conducted to propose a model for improving the distribution of rural health houses in HNSs.
State and local health department sexually transmitted disease (STD) programs provide several partner services to reduce disease transmission. Budget cuts and temporary staff reassignments for public health emergencies may affect the provision of partner services. Determining the impact of staffing reductions on STD rates and public health response should be further assessed.

Togo is experiencing a growing phenomenon of migration and consequently receives remittances from international migrants back to their relatives. Remittances represent about 9.4% of the gross domestic product (GDP), placing Togo in the top 10 recipients of remittances in the world in 2014.
