Investigation on the binding of aloe-emodin with tyrosinase by spectral analysis and molecular docking.

In this paper, the inhibitory kinetics of aloe-emodin on the activity of tyrosinase and the inhibitory mechanism have been investigated by using spectroscopic and molecular docking techniques. The results showed that aloe-emodin inhibited tyrosinase activity in a competitive manner. The binding constants, number of binding sites and thermodynamic parameters obtained at different temperature suggested that aloe-emodin spontaneously binds to tyrosinase at one binding site, mainly via electrostatic forces. Ana...

Aloe vera is sometimes used as a folk remedy for minor wounds and burns, but its mechanisms of action in wound healing are unclear.

Aloe arborescens juice prevents EMF-induced oxidative stress and thus protects from pathophysiology in the male reproductive system in vitro.

More and more studies suggest that prolonged exposure to EMF may cause adverse biological effects and point directly to a significantly negative correlation between EMF and human health, especially men fertility. In our previous study, we reported that this could be related to the EMF-induced reactive oxygen species formation, followed by DNA damage, cell cycle arrest and apoptosis induction. In this study, we decided to expand our research by the search for substances which would prevent EMF-induced damage...

Water deficit and abscisic acid treatments increase the expression of a glucomannan mannosyltransferase gene (GMMT) in Aloe vera Burm. F.

The main polysaccharide of the gel present in the leaves of or Aloe vera Burm.F., (Aloe barbadensis Miller) a xerophytic crassulacean acid metabolism (CAM) plant, is an acetylated glucomannan named acemannan. This polysaccharide is responsible for the succulence of the plant, helping it to retain water. In this study we determined using polysaccharide analysis by carbohydrate gel electrophoresis (PACE) that the acemannan is a glucomannan without galactose side branches. We also investigated the expression o...
