Numerous studies about the potential role of NK alloreactiv during a n hematopoietic stem cells graft are based on genotypics analyses of the KIR receptors and on genotypic incompatibilities between KIR and HLA for couple donor/recipient. There is still a lot of issues non resolved: Are KIR really expressed and how occur their expression during time when hematopoïetic reconstitution? Is it depending on HLA of the recipient? If KIR are expressed, what are the mechanisms of alloreactivity of NK cells? Are NK able to lyse tumoral cells? Could alloreactiv NK cells constitute a therapeutic tool able to induce tolerance and elimination of leukemia during hematopoïetic stem cells grafts?

Acute lymphoblastic leukemia , also known as acute lymphocytic leukemia, characterized by the overproduction and accumulation of cancerous, immature white blood cells, known as lymphoblast...
RATIONALE: Determination of genetic markers for acute lymphoblastic leukemia and acute promyelocytic leukemia may help identify patients with this disease and help predict the outcome of t...
Clofarabine (injection) is approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of pediatric patients 1 to 21 years old with relapsed acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) who...
RATIONALE: Controlling blood sugar levels may be effective in preventing infections in patients receiving chemotherapy for acute myeloid leukemia or acute lymphoblastic leukemia. PURPOSE:...
The study will investigate, in children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia during maintenance treatment, if addition of allopurinol to conventional oral 6-mercaptopurine and methotrexate th...
Myelofibrosis is associated with a wide variety of neoplastic and non-neoplastic bone marrow diseases, predominately myeloproliferative neoplasms and acute myeloid leukemia. The following case documen...
Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in adults is an invariably aggressive and rare disease. Its treatment is based on the use of multidrug regimens, which have been improved since the 1970s. Few publis...
Children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) have increased risk of thromboembolism (TE). However, the predictors of ALL-associated TE are as yet uncertain.
We undertook a single-center retrospective study to determine the relationship between CD9 and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).
Hyperleukocytosis, a peripheral white blood cell count greater than 100,000/mm3,is most commonly seen in patients with newly diagnosed or relapsed acute lymphoblastic leukemia and acute myeloid leukem...
A tyrosine kinase inhibitor and ANTINEOPLASTIC AGENT that inhibits the BCR-ABL kinase created by chromosome rearrangements in CHRONIC MYELOID LEUKEMIA and ACUTE LYMPHOBLASTIC LEUKEMIA, as well as PDG-derived tyrosine kinases that are overexpressed in gastrointestinal stromal tumors.
A pyrimidine nucleoside analog that is used mainly in the treatment of leukemia, especially acute non-lymphoblastic leukemia. Cytarabine is an antimetabolite antineoplastic agent that inhibits the synthesis of DNA. Its actions are specific for the S phase of the cell cycle. It also has antiviral and immunosuppressant properties. (From Martindale, The Extra Pharmacopoeia, 30th ed, p472)
Conditions in which the abnormalities in the peripheral blood or bone marrow represent the early manifestations of acute leukemia, but in which the changes are not of sufficient magnitude or specificity to permit a diagnosis of acute leukemia by the usual clinical criteria.
Enzyme that is a major constituent of kidney brush-border membranes and is also present to a lesser degree in the brain and other tissues. It preferentially catalyzes cleavage at the amino group of hydrophobic residues of the B-chain of insulin as well as opioid peptides and other biologically active peptides. The enzyme is inhibited primarily by EDTA, phosphoramidon, and thiorphan and is reactivated by zinc. Neprilysin is identical to common acute lymphoblastic leukemia antigen (CALLA Antigen), an important marker in the diagnosis of human acute lymphocytic leukemia. There is no relationship with CALLA PLANT.
An acute myeloid leukemia in which 20-30% of the bone marrow or peripheral blood cells are of megakaryocyte lineage. MYELOFIBROSIS or increased bone marrow RETICULIN is common.
Within medicine, nutrition (the study of food and the effect of its components on the body) has many different roles. Appropriate nutrition can help prevent certain diseases, or treat others. In critically ill patients, artificial feeding by tubes need t...
