High survival rates have been reported for screen-detected Stage I lung cancer patients, but there are concerns about the potential biases of uncontrolled studies. DANTE is a prospective randomized controlled trial exploring the effects of screening with LDCT on lung-cancer-specific mortality, and on the prevalence and incidence rates of lung cancer, stage distribution and resectability rates in a selected high-risk population. The prevalence of a set of biomarkers in sputum and blood samples is also being determined.
Allocation: Randomized, Control: Uncontrolled, Intervention Model: Parallel Assignment, Masking: Open Label, Primary Purpose: Screening

Computed Tomography for Early Detection of Cancer in Women Who Are at Risk for Lung Cancer
RATIONALE: Imaging procedures such as computed tomography may improve the ability to detect lung cancer earlier. PURPOSE: Screening and diagnostic study of computed tomography in women wh...
This phase II trial studies how well positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) and single positron emission computed tomography (SPECT)/CT imaging works in improving radi...
This randomized phase II trial studies how well positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT)-guided radiation therapy works compared to standard radiation therapy in treatin...
Underreporting of Interstitial Lung Abnormalities on Lung Cancer Screening Computed Tomography.
The objective of this study was to investigate the correlation between dual-energy computed tomography (DECT)-based iodine quantitation and fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose (F-FDG) positron emission tom...
Shedding Light on Incidental Findings on Low-Dose Lung Cancer Screening Chest Computed Tomography.
Cancer Yield of Incidental Breast Lesions Detected on Chest Computed Tomography.
This study aimed to determine the cancer yield for abnormal breast findings initially identified on chest computed tomography (CT).
Tomography, Spiral Computed
Computed tomography where there is continuous X-ray exposure to the patient while being transported in a spiral or helical pattern through the beam of irradiation. This provides improved three-dimensional contrast and spatial resolution compared to conventional computed tomography, where data is obtained and computed from individual sequential exposures.
Spiral Cone-beam Computed Tomography
Modality of computed tomography in which the patient is irradiated in a spiral path around the body with a cone or pyramid-shaped beam.
Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography Computed Tomography
An imaging technique using a device which combines TOMOGRAPHY, EMISSION-COMPUTED, SINGLE-PHOTON and TOMOGRAPHY, X-RAY COMPUTED in the same session.
Multidetector Computed Tomography
Types of spiral computed tomography technology in which multiple slices of data are acquired simultaneously improving the resolution over single slice acquisition technology.
Cone-beam Computed Tomography
Computed tomography modalities which use a cone or pyramid-shaped beam of radiation.
