Study On Liprimar (Atorvastatin) In Patients With Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) And High Risk Of Cardiovascular Complications

In which CHD patients with high risk of CV complications are different doses of LIPRIMAR used? For this purpose, data on hyperlipidemia will be elicited over and above the basic nosographi...

Atorvastatin Versus Simvastatin In The Prevention Of Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) In Patients With Known CHD

To investigate whether a long-term strategy to lower LDL cholesterol with atorvastatin as much as possible will improve prognosis in CHD patients compared with a strategy reflecting curren...

Pleiotropic Effects of Atorvastatin in High Cardiovascular Risk Patients

The present study constitutes a study examining the effect of atorvastatin on vascular function in high cardiovascular risk patients. For this purpose the investigators will record atorvas...

MK0653C in High Cardiovascular Risk Patients With High Cholesterol (Switch Study)

This study will compare the lipid-altering efficacy and safety of switching to co-administration of ezetimibe and atorvastatin versus treatment with atorvastatin or rosuvastatin in high ca...

Early Detection of Atherosclerosis: a Randomized Trial in the Primary Prevention of Cardiovascular Diseases.

The incidence of cardiovascular diseases is still high and further efforts should be done in primary prevention. The main objective is to quantify the burden of subclinical atherosclerosis...

Atorvastatin pretreatment attenuates kainic acid-induced hippocampal neuronal death via regulation of lipocalin-2-associated neuroinflammation.

Statins mediate vascular protection and reduce the prevalence of cardiovascular diseases. Recent work indicates that statins have anticonvulsive effects in the brain; however, little is known about th...

Atorvastatin enhances endothelial adherens junctions through promoting VE-PTP gene transcription and reducing VE-cadherin-Y731 phosphorylation.

Vascular endothelial protein tyrosine phosphatase (VE-PTP) is essential for endothelial cells (ECs) adherens junction and vascular homeostasis; however, the regulatory mechanism of VE-PTP transcriptio...

Atorvastatin induces autophagy in MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells.

This article explores the effects of atorvastatin on cultured breast cancer cells. Our experiment demonstrated that atorvastatin triggered autophagy and inhibited proliferation in breast cancer cells....

Effect of Ischemic Postconditioning and Atorvastatin in the Prevention of Remote Lung Reperfusion Injury.

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the ability of ischemic postconditioning, atorvastatin and both associated to prevent or minimize reperfusion injury in the lung of rats subjected to ische...

Simultaneous LC-MS/MS analysis of simvastatin, atorvastatin, rosuvastatin and their active metabolites for plasma samples of obese patients underwent gastric bypass surgery.

Statins, HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors, are considered the first line treatment of hyperlipidemia to reduce the risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases. The prevalence of hyperlipidemia and the...

A pyrrole and heptanoic acid derivative,HYDROXYMETHYLGLUTARYL-COA REDUCTASE INHIBITOR (statin), and ANTICHOLESTEREMIC AGENT that is used to reduce serum levels of LDL-CHOLESTEROL; APOLIPOPROTEIN B; AND TRIGLYCERIDES and to increase serum levels of HDL-CHOLESTEROL in the treatment of HYPERLIPIDEMIAS and prevention of CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES in patients with multiple risk factors.

Pathological conditions involving the CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM including the HEART; the BLOOD VESSELS; or the PERICARDIUM.

Methods and procedures for the diagnosis of diseases or dysfunction of the cardiovascular system or its organs or demonstration of their physiological processes.

Diseases of long duration and generally slow progression. The four main types of noncommunicable diseases are CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES (e.g., heart attacks and stroke), CANCER, chronic respiratory diseases (e.g., CHRONIC OBSTRUCTIVE PULMONARY DISEASE and ASTHMA) and DIABETES MELLITUS.

Unexpected rapid natural death due to cardiovascular collapse within one hour of initial symptoms. It is usually caused by the worsening of existing heart diseases. The sudden onset of symptoms, such as CHEST PAIN and CARDIAC ARRHYTHMIAS, particularly VENTRICULAR TACHYCARDIA, can lead to the loss of consciousness and cardiac arrest followed by biological death.
