Hydrochlorothiazide (+) Losartan Potassium vs. Amlodipine Comparative Study

An efficacy and safety study of hydrochlorothiazide (+) losartan potassium compared to amlodipine at week 12 in Korean patients with essential hypertension

An Open Label Study to Assess the Efficacy, Safety and Tolerability of COZAAR Plus (Losartan Potassium 50mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg) Possibly Titrated up to COZAAR Plus-F (Losartan Potassium 100mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 25mg) in Patients With Essential Hy

Evaluate blood pressure after 6 weeks of treatment with COZAAR plus.

A Study of Losartan Compared to Losartan/HCTZ in Pediatric Patients With Hypertension

The purpose of this study is to test the safety and effectiveness of Losartan as compared to Losartan/HCTZ in pediatric patients (6 to 17 years) with high blood pressure.

Bioequivalency Study of Losartan Potassium/Hydrochlorothiazide 100 mg /25 mg Tablet Under Fed Conditions

The objective of this study was to prove the bioequivalence of losartan potassium/hydrochlorothiazide 100/25 mg tablet under fed conditions.

LAAS (Losartan Anti-Atherosclerosis Study)(0954-330)(COMPLETED)

The primary objective of this study is to evaluate efficacy, arterial stiffness measured by Pulse Wave Velocity (PWV) of Losartan potassium group compared to Carvedilol group after 24 week...

Effect of prehypertensive losartan therapy on AT1R and ATRAP methylation of adipose tissue in the later life of high‑fat‑fed spontaneously hypertensive rats.

Hypertension is frequently associated with metabolic disorders. The present study was designed to investigate the long‑term effect of prehypertensive losartan therapy on metabolic disorders in high...

Direct renin inhibition is not enough to prevent reactive oxygen species generation and vascular dysfunction in renovascular hypertension.

Renin-angiotensin system activation promotes oxidative stress and endothelial dysfunction. However, no previous study has examined the effects of the renin inhibitior aliskiren, either alone or combin...

Candesartan, rather than losartan, improves motor dysfunction in thioacetamide-induced chronic liver failure in rats.

Minimal hepatic encephalopathy is more common than the acute syndrome. Losartan, the first angiotensin-II receptor blocker (ARB), and candesartan, another widely-used ARB, have protected against devel...

Effect of Losartan on RV Dysfunction: Results from the Double-Blind, Randomized REDEFINE Trial in Adults with Repaired Tetralogy of Fallot.

Background -The effect of angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs) on right ventricular (RV) function is still unknown. ARBs are beneficial in patients with acquired left ventricular (LV) dysfunction a...

A Randomized, Multicenter, Double-blind, Placebo-controlled Study to Evaluate the Efficacy and the Tolerability of a Triple Combination of Amlodipine/Losartan/Rosuvastatin in Patients With Comorbid Essential Hypertension and Hyperlipidemia.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and tolerability of a triple combination of amlodipine/losartan/rosuvastatin in patients with hypertension and hypercholesterolemia.

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

An antagonist of ANGIOTENSIN TYPE 1 RECEPTOR with antihypertensive activity due to the reduced pressor effect of ANGIOTENSIN II.

Agents that antagonize ANGIOTENSIN II TYPE 1 RECEPTOR. Included are ANGIOTENSIN II analogs such as SARALASIN and biphenylimidazoles such as LOSARTAN. Some are used as ANTIHYPERTENSIVE AGENTS.

A class of drugs that act by inhibition of potassium efflux through cell membranes. Blockade of potassium channels prolongs the duration of ACTION POTENTIALS. They are used as ANTI-ARRHYTHMIA AGENTS and VASODILATOR AGENTS.

A thiazide diuretic often considered the prototypical member of this class. It reduces the reabsorption of electrolytes from the renal tubules. This results in increased excretion of water and electrolytes, including sodium, potassium, chloride, and magnesium. It is used in the treatment of several disorders including edema, hypertension, diabetes insipidus, and hypoparathyroidism.

A group of slow opening and closing voltage-gated potassium channels. Because of their delayed activation kinetics they play an important role in controlling ACTION POTENTIAL duration.
