The purpose of this study is to determine, by means of DNA and protein analysis, the relationship between DNA and protein profiles and a number of endpoints which are important for the patient such as overall survival and side effects.
It has already been known for a long time that cancer is a genetic disorder and that the development of the illness is a very complex interaction between genetic and surrounding factors. Also the response on therapy and the development and seriousness of side effects is stipulated by this complicated collaboration of genetic and surrounding factors. Moreover it is not only the DNA that plays an important role but also the systems of control at protein level. At this moment a lot of questions remain to be answered because up till now the studies were of rather restricted statistical strength with frequently inconsistent dates and moreover retrospective. Major retrospective studies are necessary to distinguish the relationship between DNA/protein patterns and clinical relevant endpoints like prognosis and toxicity in which an as broad as possible patient group is being monitored. For this reason we want to take blood samples in MAASTRO clinic of all patients with meningioma and store it encrypted so that we can perform DNA and protein analyses in future and to correlate the results with survival and toxicity of the treatment.

To compare daily oral mifepristone vs placebo with respect to time to treatment failure in patients with unresectable meningioma.
This research study is studying a drug as a possible treatment for High Grade Meningioma. The drug involved in this study is an immunotherapy drug called pembrolizumab
In this multicenter, Phase II trial, the investigators plan to evaluate the activity of the combination of bevacizumab and everolimus in patients with recurrent, progressive meningioma fol...
The purpose of this research study is to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of SOM230C in treating recurrent meningiomas. SOM230C is a newly discovered drug that may stop meningioma ce...
RATIONALE: Imatinib mesylate may interfere with the growth of tumor cells and may be an effective treatment for recurrent glioma and meningioma. PURPOSE: Phase I/II trial to study the eff...
The present study investigated the expressions of CD133, P57 and HSF1 in meningioma so as to explore their protagonists in the prognosis of meningioma.
Meningioma is the most common primary intracranial tumor, but the molecular drivers of aggressive meningioma are incompletely understood. Using 280 human meningioma samples and RNA sequencing, immunoh...
Meningioma is slow-growing benign neoplasm that derived from the meningothelial cells of the arachnoid mater, and it is the most common type of primary brain tumor. Although cases of extracranial meta...
Lymphoplasmacyte-rich meningioma is an uncommon variant of meningioma, and that arising in the extradural site is extremely rare. Herein, we report a case of primary intraosseous lymphoplasmacyte-rich...
To explore the surgical technique and curative effect of microsurgical resection of large anterior skull base meningioma via unilateral subfrontal and interhemispheric approach. The clinical data of 14...
A relatively common neoplasm of the CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM that arises from arachnoidal cells. The majority are well differentiated vascular tumors which grow slowly and have a low potential to be invasive, although malignant subtypes occur. Meningiomas have a predilection to arise from the parasagittal region, cerebral convexity, sphenoidal ridge, olfactory groove, and SPINAL CANAL. Benign and malignant neoplasms which occur within the substance of the spinal cord (intramedullary neoplasms) or in the space between the dura and spinal cord (intradural extramedullary neoplasms). The majority of intramedullary spinal tumors are primary CNS neoplasms including ASTROCYTOMA; EPENDYMOMA; and LIPOMA. Intramedullary neoplasms are often associated with SYRINGOMYELIA. The most frequent histologic types of intradural-extramedullary tumors are MENINGIOMA and NEUROFIBROMA.
Bioinformatics is the application of computer software and hardware to the management of biological data to create useful information. Computers are used to gather, store, analyze and integrate biological and genetic information which can then be applied...
Within medicine, nutrition (the study of food and the effect of its components on the body) has many different roles. Appropriate nutrition can help prevent certain diseases, or treat others. In critically ill patients, artificial feeding by tubes need t...
DNA sequencing is the process of determining the precise order of nucleotides within a DNA molecule. During DNA sequencing, the bases of a small fragment of DNA are sequentially identified from signals emitted as each fragment is re-synthesized from a ...
