Vinblastine +/- Bevacizumab in Children With Unresectable or Progressive Low Grade Glioma (LGG)

This is an open-label, randomized, multi-center, comparator Phase II trial looking at the addition of Bevacizumab to Vinblastine in chemotherapy naïve pediatric patients with progressive ...

CCRT With Temozolomide Versus RT Alone in Patients With IDH Wild-type/TERT Promoter Mutation Grade II/III Gliomas

The management of lower-grade gliomas (Diffuse low-grade and intermediate-grade gliomas, WHO II and III) is largely based on surgery followed by radiotherapy. Recent studies showed that lo...

Evaluation de O-(2-[18F]-Fluoroethyl)-L-Tyrosine, a New Tracer PET, in the Diagnosis of Low Grade Glioma

Determine the overall discriminatory ability of FET PET in the diagnosis of glioma grade II (referring to the current diagnostic gold standard represented by the histopathology exam of a t...

LUX-Breast 2; Afatinib in HER2 (Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor)-Treatment Failures

The general aim of this study is to investigate the efficacy and safety of afatinib (BIBW 2992) alone and in combination with weekly paclitaxel or weekly vinorelbine (in patients who prog...

Phase II Trial of RAD001 in Patients With Recurrent Low Grade Glioma

A single-arm, one-stage phase II trial of RAD001 will be undertaken. Sixty patients will be enrolled. The target population will be patients with a diagnosis of low-grade glioma who expe...

Progression of Low-Grade Glioma During Pregnancy With Subsequent Regression Postpartum Without Treatment-A Case Report.

This report illustrates a case of a low-grade glioma that showed significant disease progression during pregnancy, and then subsequent regression spontaneously in the postpartum period without treatme...

A case report of targeted therapy with apatinib in a patient with recurrent high grade glioma.

Despite the approval of antiangiogenic therapy for high grade glioma (HGG) patients, survival benefits are still limited. New treatment plans have always been developed to improve the survival.

Loss of MycBP may be associated with the improved survival in 1P co-deletion of lower grade glioma patients.

The chromosome 1p/19q co-deletion is a favorable prognostic factor in patients with low grade glioma. In the current analysis, we examined MycBP expression in low grade glioma. MycBP lies on chromosom...

Bereaved Caregivers to Patients With High-Grade Glioma: A Qualitative Explorative Study.

The disease and treatment trajectory of patients with high-grade glioma is a burdensome period for the patients' closest relatives who become informal caregivers. Caregivers experiencing this demandin...

Single-agent bevacizumab in the treatment of recurrent or refractory pediatric low-grade glioma: A single institutional experience.

Bevacizumab-based therapy has been demonstrated to be effective in the treatment of refractory or recurrent pediatric low-grade glioma (LGG); however its efficacy as a single agent is less understood.

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

A tumor of both low- and high-grade malignancy. The low-grade grow slowly, appear in any age group, and are readily cured by excision. The high-grade behave aggressively, widely infiltrate the salivary gland and produce lymph node and distant metastases. Mucoepidermoid carcinomas account for about 21% of the malignant tumors of the parotid gland and 10% of the sublingual gland. They are the most common malignant tumor of the parotid. (From DeVita Jr et al., Cancer: Principles & Practice of Oncology, 3d ed, p575; Holland et al., Cancer Medicine, 3d ed, p1240)

A malignant epithelial tumor of glandular tissue, especially the salivary glands, characterized by acini with mucus-producing cells and by the presence of malignant squamous elements. Most mucoepidermoid tumors are low-grade lesions readily cured by adequate excision. They may appear in any age group. They grow slowly. If high-grade, they behave aggressively, widely infiltrating the salivary gland and producing lymph node and distant metastases. (Dorland, 27th ed; from DeVita Jr et al., Cancer: Principles & Practice of Oncology, 3d ed, p575)

Molecular products metabolized and secreted by neoplastic tissue and characterized biochemically in cells or BODY FLUIDS. They are indicators of tumor stage and grade as well as useful for monitoring responses to treatment and predicting recurrence. Many chemical groups are represented including HORMONES; ANTIGENS; amino and NUCLEIC ACIDS; ENZYMES; POLYAMINES; and specific CELL MEMBRANE PROTEINS and LIPIDS.

Publications printed and distributed daily, weekly, or at some other regular and usually short interval, containing news, articles of opinion (as editorials and letters), features, advertising, and announcements of current interest. (Webster's 3d ed)
