Study in Non-Clear Cell Renal Carcinoma (Ncc-RCC) Temsirolimus Versus Sunitinib

This will be a prospective, open-label, randomized multicenter phase-II study to evaluate progression free survival (PFS) in patients with locally advanced or metastatic non-clear cell ren...

A Study of Varlilumab (Anti-CD27) and Sunitinib in Patients With Metastatic Clear Cell Renal Cell Carcinoma

This is a study to determine the clinical benefit (how well the drug works), safety, and tolerability of combining varlilumab and sunitinib. The study will enroll patients with metastatic...

Phase II Study of Afinitor vs. Sutent in Patients With Metastatic Non-Clear Cell Renal Cell Carcinoma

To compare the anti-tumor activity of everolimus and sunitinib in subjects with mRCC with non-clear cell pathology.

Randomized Phase-II Study of Nivolumab Plus Ipilimumab Versus Sunitinib in Untreated and Advanced Non-clear Cell RCC

SUNNIFORECAST (Sunitinib vs. Nivolumab + Ipilimumab as First line treatment Of REnal cell CAncer of non-clear cell SubTypes) is a Phase II, randomized, open-label investigator initiated tr...

Evaluation of Predictive Markers for Toxicity and Efficacy in Patients With mccRCC Treated by Anti-VEGF Therapy

The purpose of this study is to assess whether certain metabonomics and/or lipidomics features in correlation with pharmacokinetics before, during and after treatment with sunitinib or paz...

Elevated plasma interleukin 6 predicts poor response in patients treated with sunitinib for metastatic clear cell renal cell carcinoma.

Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is the most common type among renal cell carcinomas, and anti-angiogenic treatment is currently first line therapy in metastatic ccRCC (mccRCC). Response rates ...

Cytoreductive Nephrectomy in Metastatic Papillary Renal Cell Carcinoma: Results from the International Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma Database Consortium.

There is evidence that cytoreductive nephrectomy (CN) may be beneficial in metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC). This has been studied predominantly in clear-cell RCC, with more limited data on the ...

Outcomes for Patients after Resection of Pulmonary Metastases from Clear Cell Renal Cell Carcinoma: 18 Years of Experience.

Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is the most common kidney tumor. If feasible, metastasectomy is preferably indicated in metastatic disease.

Dysregulation of the miR-25-IMPA2 axis promotes metastatic progression in clear cell renal cell carcinoma.

The molecular mechanism underlying clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) metastasis remains unclear. We therefore aimed to elucidate the role of IMPA2 in ccRCC metastatic progression.

Clear-cell Renal Cell Carcinoma: Molecular Characterization of IMDC Risk Groups and Sarcomatoid Tumors.

Recent trials have suggested predictive biomarkers in advanced clear-cell renal cell carcinoma (accRCC): International Metastatic RCC Database Consortium (IMDC) good risk or angiogenic gene signature ...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

A heterogeneous group of sporadic or hereditary carcinoma derived from cells of the KIDNEYS. There are several subtypes including the clear cells, the papillary, the chromophobe, the collecting duct, the spindle cells (sarcomatoid), or mixed cell-type carcinoma.

A rare tumor of the female genital tract, most often the ovary, formerly considered to be derived from mesonephric rests. Two varieties are recognized: (1) clear cell carcinoma, so called because of its histologic resemblance to renal cell carcinoma, and now considered to be of muellerian duct derivation and (2) an embryonal tumor (called also ENDODERMAL SINUS TUMOR and yolk sac tumor), occurring chiefly in children. The latter variety may also arise in the testis. (Dorland, 27th ed)

An autosomal dominant disorder caused by mutations in a tumor suppressor gene. This syndrome is characterized by abnormal growth of small blood vessels leading to a host of neoplasms. They include HEMANGIOBLASTOMA in the RETINA; CEREBELLUM; and SPINAL CORD; PHEOCHROMOCYTOMA; pancreatic tumors; and renal cell carcinoma (see CARCINOMA, RENAL CELL). Common clinical signs include HYPERTENSION and neurological dysfunctions.

A heterogeneous aggregate of at least three distinct histological types of lung cancer, including SQUAMOUS CELL CARCINOMA; ADENOCARCINOMA; and LARGE CELL CARCINOMA. They are dealt with collectively because of their shared treatment strategy.

A carbonic anhydrase and transmembrane protein that consists of an N-terminal PROTEOGLYCAN-like domain, a catalytic region, a single-pass transmembrane domain, and a short intracellular tail. It functions as a dimer and is expressed primarily by cells of the GASTROINTESTINAL TRACT; BILE DUCT EPITHELIUM; and GALL BLADDER. It is expressed at high levels in many solid tumors, especially CLEAR CELL RENAL CARCINOMA, in response to CELL HYPOXIA.
