Exploratory study on blood-borne biological markers and their correlation with clinical and pathological characteristics.

Exploratory multi-cohort study including different types of cancer (different organs and/or different histological types).

Each kind of blood-borne biological markers analyses corresponds to a cohort.

Self-sampling Among Long-term Non-attenders to Cervical Cancer Screening

The trial will evaluate whether human papillomavirus (HPV) self-sampling may increase cervical cancer screening attendance among under-screened women in Norway, how different ways of offer...

Self-sampling for Non-attenders to Cervical Cancer Screening

The trial will evaluate whether self-sampling and human papillomavirus (HPV) testing may increase cervical cancer screening attendance among under-screened women in Czech Republic. Differe...

Atrial Fibrillation and Characterization of Blood Platelet

Arterial thromboembolism constitutes a major risk of atrial fibrillation (AF) requiring antithrombotic therapy. Platelets and microparticles (MPs) are important for hemostasis and thrombos...

HPV Self-Sampling for Cervical Cancer Screening Among Lesbian, Bisexual, and Queer (LBQ) Women

The proposed study will examine the implementation of a Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) self-sampling intervention for under screened LBQ women living in South Florida. The study will enroll p...

Detection of Heterogeneity in Central Lung Cancer - EBUS-TBNA and ctDNA Analysis vs. Endobronchial Forceps Biopsy

Study participants will be selected from clinical routine patients with endobronchial infiltration of a central lung cancer and indication for bronchoscopic sampling. Consented patients w...

Umbilical cord blood sampling versus admission blood sampling on requirement of blood transfusion in extremely preterm infants.

Self-Sampling as a Plausible Alternative to Screen Cervical Cancer Precursor Lesions in a Population with Low Adherence to Screening: A Systematic Review.

Cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the world. A raised incidence and mortality parallel a low participation rate in screening, namely screening in poor countries and among specific po...

Neonatal clinical blood sampling led to major blood loss and was associated with bronchopulmonary dysplasia.

Studies indicate that reduced fetal haemoglobin levels are related to increased neonatal morbidity rates. This study investigated the relationships between sampling-related blood loss and adult blood ...

Feasibility of echocardiography-guided repeated intraventricular blood sampling in mice.

To investigate the feasibility of echocardiography-guided closed-chest repeated intraventricular blood sampling in mice, and to clarify the maximum blood volume that can be collected by this method, a...

Sponge-based microfluidic sampling for potentiometric ion sensing.

This work demonstrates an application of the new materials, sponges, for the use in microfluidic solution sampling integrated with ion-selective electrodes. The microfluidic sponge-based sampling was ...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

Sampling of blood levels of the adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) by withdrawal of blood from the inferior petrosal sinus. The inferior petrosal sinus arises from the cavernous sinus and runs to the internal jugular vein. Sampling of blood at this level is a valuable tool in the differential diagnosis of Cushing disease, Cushing syndrome, and other adrenocortical diseases.

A sampling methodology using small sample sizes when conducting surveys in small geographical or population-based areas or lots.

A method for diagnosis of fetal diseases by sampling the cells of the placental chorionic villi for DNA analysis, presence of bacteria, concentration of metabolites, etc. The advantage over amniocentesis is that the procedure can be carried out in the first trimester.

A distribution function used to describe the occurrence of rare events or to describe the sampling distribution of isolated counts in a continuum of time or space.

Studies in which a number of subjects are selected from all subjects in a defined population. Conclusions based on sample results may be attributed only to the population sampled.
