The Chongqing intracerebral hemorrhage study is a multi-center, prospective, observational study led by professor Qi Li from Chongqing Medical University. Professor Peng Xie will be the se...

Association Between Haptoglobin Genotype and Brain Swelling

Intracerebral hemorrhage is bleeding into the brain and is a major cause of stroke and other complications. Brain injury from intracerebral hemorrhage occurs in two phases. The early phas...

Multinational Survey of Epidemiology, Morbidity, and Outcomes in Intracerebral Hemorrhage

The aim of this project is development of a comprehensive, prospective, multinational, multicenter, hospital-based, data repository for patients with intracerebral hemorrhage.

Comparison Between Stereotactic Aspiration and Intra-endoscopic Surgery to Treat Intracerebral Hemorrhage

Views for surgery method selection of intracerebral hemorrhage are still controversial. Since the application of neuroendoscopic technique in intraventricular hemorrhage was confirmed eff...

The max-intracerebral hemorrhage score predicts long-term outcome of intracerebral hemorrhage.

Little is known about the performance of the maximally treated intracerebral hemorrhage (max-ICH) score in predicting unfavorable long-term functional outcome and death in patients with intracerebral ...

Effect of Hyperosmolar Therapy on Outcome Following Spontaneous Intracerebral Hemorrhage: Ethnic/Racial Variations of Intracerebral Hemorrhage (ERICH) Study.

We aimed to identify the effect of hyperosmolar therapy (mannitol and hypertonic saline) on outcomes after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) in the Ethnic/Racial Variations of Intracerebral Hemorrhage (E...

Anatomical distribution of cerebral microbleeds and intracerebral hemorrhage in vertebrobasilar dolichoectasia.

Vertebrobasilar dolichoectasia (VBD) is a dilatative arteriopathy associated with intracerebral hemorrhage. In the present study, we sought to evaluate the frequency and anatomical distribution of cer...

Serum tenascin-C predicts severity and outcome of acute intracerebral hemorrhage.

Tenascin-C is a matricellular protein related to brain injury. We studied serum tenascin-C in acute intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) and examined the associations with severity and outcome following the...

Admission Serum Calcium Level as a Prognostic Marker for Intracerebral Hemorrhage.

Prognostic significance of serum calcium level in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage is not well studied. The aim of the study was to identify if a relationship between admission serum calcium lev...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

Hemorrhage within the orbital cavity, posterior to the eyeball.

Intraocular hemorrhage from the vessels of various tissues of the eye.

Presence of air or gas within the intracranial cavity (e.g., epidural space, subdural space, intracerebral, etc.) which may result from traumatic injuries, fistulous tract formation, erosions of the skull from NEOPLASMS or infection, NEUROSURGICAL PROCEDURES, and other conditions.

Hemorrhage following any surgical procedure. It may be immediate or delayed and is not restricted to the surgical wound.

The sudden loss of blood supply to the PITUITARY GLAND, leading to tissue NECROSIS and loss of function (PANHYPOPITUITARISM). The most common cause is hemorrhage or INFARCTION of a PITUITARY ADENOMA. It can also result from acute hemorrhage into SELLA TURCICA due to HEAD TRAUMA; INTRACRANIAL HYPERTENSION; or other acute effects of central nervous system hemorrhage. Clinical signs include severe HEADACHE; HYPOTENSION; bilateral visual disturbances; UNCONSCIOUSNESS; and COMA.
