Safety and Efficacy of Bovine Milk Immunoglobulin Against CS17 and CsbD

This is a Phase II, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study designed to investigate whether hyperimmune bovine milk IgG products specific for CsbD and CS17, protect subjects aga...

Triggering of Follicular Maturation

The follicular phase of the menstrual cycle involves the hourly release of gonadotropin-releasing hormone, which binds to receptors on the gonadotropes. This results in the secretion of fo...

Human Milk Fortification in Extremely Preterm Infants

This is a randomised controlled multi-centre trial comparing the effect of diet supplementation of a human breast milk-based nutrient fortifier (H2MF®) with standard bovine protein-based ...

Gastric Emptying After Tea With Milk in Pregnancy.

The aim of the study is to assess the difference in gastric emptying using ultrasound of pregnant patients following a cup of tea with milk or a similar volume of water.

Exclusive Human Milk Feeding in Infants With Single Ventricle Physiology

A randomized, blinded, controlled trial to evaluate growth velocity and clinical outcomes in infants with single ventricle physiology fed an exclusive human milk diet prior to, and through...

Urinary excretion of sex steroid hormone metabolites after consumption of cow milk: a randomized crossover intervention trial.

Current cow milk production practices introduce considerable levels of pregnancy hormones into the milk. Humans are exposed to these hormones when cow milk is consumed, and this may explain the observ...

Detection of buffalo milk adulteration with cow milk by capillary electrophoresis analysis.

The addition of cow milk during the production of buffalo mozzarella is a common fraud in dairy industries because of the lower price and greater availability of cow milk throughout the year. The aim ...

Characterization of the in situ pellicle ultrastructure formed under the influence of bovine milk and milk protein isolates.

The present study aimed to investigate if bovine milk or milk protein isolates, respectively, alter the ultrastructure of thein situ pellicle and might therefore have an influence on oral health.

Evaluation of the effects of mild heat in bovine milk by time resolved fluorescence.

Heat treatment of milk and dairy products are indispensable for the dairy industry. This thermal processing intends to extend shelf life, improve quality of the milk and minimize the health risks asso...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

Raw and processed or manufactured milk and milk-derived products. These are usually from cows (bovine) but are also from goats, sheep, reindeer, and water buffalo.

Acute disease of cattle caused by the bovine viral diarrhea viruses (DIARRHEA VIRUSES, BOVINE VIRAL). Often mouth ulcerations are the only sign but fever, diarrhea, drop in milk yield, and loss of appetite are also seen. Severity of clinical disease varies and is strain dependent. Outbreaks are characterized by low morbidity and high mortality.

Allergic reaction to milk (usually cow's milk) or milk products. MILK HYPERSENSITIVITY should be differentiated from LACTOSE INTOLERANCE, an intolerance to milk as a result of congenital deficiency of lactase.

The type species of DELTARETROVIRUS that causes a form of bovine lymphosarcoma (ENZOOTIC BOVINE LEUKOSIS) or persistent lymphocytosis.

A nonapeptide that contains the ring of OXYTOCIN and the side chain of ARG-VASOPRESSIN with the latter determining the specific recognition of hormone receptors. Vasotocin is the non-mammalian vasopressin-like hormone or antidiuretic hormone regulating water and salt metabolism.
