2016-10-27 05:38:22 | BioPortfolio

Summary

This study aims to investigate the changes induced by HABIT-ILE in impairments, activity and participation of children with unilateral CP, as well as neuroplastic changes induces by the treatment. Visuospatial deficits will be investigated and the effect of prismatic adaptation will be measured.

Description

This study aims to investigate the changes induced by HABIT-ILE at the 3 levels of the international classification of functioning and health (ICF) in children with unilateral CP, as well as neuroplastic changes induces by the treatment. Visuospatial deficits will be investigated and the effect of prismatic adaptation will be measured.

Clinical pearl: benzethonium chloride for habit-tic nail deformity.

Treatment of habit-tic nail deformity is challenging, as it often requires both patient awareness and behavioral changes that may be long-standing. Many treatment options have been suggested, but limi...

A rigid hexa-gold trigonal prismatic metallocage that behaves as a coronene trap.

A hexagold trigonal prismatic cage was obtained by combining a triphenylene-tris-N-heterocycic carbene ligand and a carbazolyl-bis-alkynyl linker. The metallocage has a 'slot-like' cavity of ≈300 Å...

Experimental test of a planning intervention for forming a 'higher order' health-habit.

Habit-formation interventions may help individuals initiate and maintain behaviour change. This paper proposes and empirically tests the idea that it is possible for individuals to form 'higher-order ...

Here we report a new trigonal prismatic cobalt(II) complex that behaves as a single molecule magnet. The obtained zero-field splitting, which is also directly accessed by THz-EPR spectroscopy (-102.5 ...

Brief Facial Emotion Aftereffect Occurs Earlier for Angry than Happy Adaptation.

Prolonged exposure to an emotional face biases our judgement of subsequent face stimulus toward the opposite emotion. This emotion aftereffect has been suggested to occur as early as 35ms exposure dur...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

The adjustment of the eye to variations in the intensity of light. Light adaptation is the adjustment of the eye when the light threshold is increased; DARK ADAPTATION when the light is greatly reduced. (From Cline et al., Dictionary of Visual Science, 4th ed)

The observable, measurable, and often pathological activity of an organism that portrays its inability to overcome a habit resulting in an insatiable craving for a substance or for performing certain acts. The addictive behavior includes the emotional and physical overdependence on the object of habit in increasing amount or frequency.

The caring for individuals in institutions and their adaptation to routines characteristic of the institutional environment, and/or their loss of adaptation to life outside the institution.

Changes in biological features that help an organism cope with its ENVIRONMENT. These changes include physiological (ADAPTATION, PHYSIOLOGICAL), phenotypic and genetic changes.

Adjustment of the eyes under conditions of low light. The sensitivity of the eye to light is increased during dark adaptation.
