We propose to assess one method of sperm selection based on the characteristics of spermatozoa recently introduced: Sperm Selection Assay, which used a gradient of concentration of progesterone to act as chemoatractant of spermatozoa of better quality. We will assess in vitro fertilization with two techniques (SSSA versus traditional technique of swin up) as well as embryo development.

In order to increase the likelihood of achieving IVF-treated pregnancy, good quality embryo transfer is important. To get good quality embryos, good quality gametes are needed. The selecti...
This is a randomized controlled trial of couples with a history of poor embryo quality undergoing a repeat in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycle for unexplained infertility. Couples will be r...
Infertility is considered a disease by the World Health Organization, and it is increasing worldwide, affecting more than 70 million couples. About 50% of the cases are due to male inabili...
The aim of the current study is to evaluate to effectiveness of sperm selection by using fertile chip in unexplained infertile couples on ICSI cycles.
Does the level of statistic oxidation reduction potential (sORP) affects the choice of sperm source or sperm selection method used during ICSI.
Men affected with idiopathic infertility often display basic spermiogramme values similar to fertile individuals, questioning the diagnostic impact of the World Health Organization (WHO) thresholds us...
How sperm reach ova after mating is one of the central questions in reproductive biology. Many species copulate and store sperm in female reproductive organs until spawning . The way females use st...
Postcopulatory sexual selection is thought to be responsible for much of the extraordinary diversity in sperm morphology across metazoans. However, the extent to which postcopulatory selection targets...
The present study was undertaken to demonstrate the existence of mimicry between spermatozoa and bacteria. For this, the shared antigenic determinants between mouse spermatozoa and Streptococcus pyoge...
In 50% of all infertility cases, the male is subfertile or infertile, however, the underlying mechanisms are often unknown. Even when assisted reproductive procedures such as in vitro fertilization an...
An assisted fertilization technique consisting of the microinjection of a single viable sperm into an extracted ovum. It is used principally to overcome low sperm count, low sperm motility, inability of sperm to penetrate the egg, or other conditions related to male infertility (INFERTILITY, MALE).
The structural and functional changes by which SPERMATOZOA become capable of oocyte FERTILIZATION. It normally requires exposing the sperm to the female genital tract for a period of time to bring about increased SPERM MOTILITY and the ACROSOME REACTION before fertilization in the FALLOPIAN TUBES can take place.
Diminished or absent ability of a female to achieve conception.
The quality of SEMEN, an indicator of male fertility, can be determined by semen volume, pH, sperm concentration (SPERM COUNT), total sperm number, sperm viability, sperm vigor (SPERM MOTILITY), normal sperm morphology, ACROSOME integrity, and the concentration of WHITE BLOOD CELLS.
Interactive processes between the oocyte (OVUM) and the sperm (SPERMATOZOA) including sperm adhesion, ACROSOME REACTION, sperm penetration of the ZONA PELLUCIDA, and events leading to FERTILIZATION.
An assay is an analytic procedure for qualitatively assessing or quantitatively measuring the presence or amount or the functional activity of a target entity. This can be a drug or biochemical substance or a cell in an organism or organic sample. ...
Fertility is the ability of a couple to conceive, but can related to specifically the man or woman. Various reasons can cause a couple to be infertile, and due to the strong desire of these patients to have <!--LGfEGNT2Lhm-->children, a range of ...
