To assess the cardiac effects of energy drink brands in healthy volunteers

Energy drinks are widely available and globally consumed. There are many brands of energy drinks on the market, and there are differences in the ingredients included. Previous studies have tried to evaluate the safety of energy drinks and have demonstrated a signal for some electrocardiographic and hemodynamic effects. However, product related differences need further exploration. This study is designed to assess the effects of 2 different energy drink products on heart rhythm and blood pressure in healthy subjects.

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

Electric power supply devices which convert biological energy, such as chemical energy of metabolism or mechanical energy of periodic movements, into electrical energy.

Thermal energy contained in the earth. It can be used directly to supply heat or converted to mechanical or electrical energy. (from McGraw-Hill Dictionary of Scientific and Technical Terms, 6th ed)

Units that convert some other form of energy into electrical energy.

The transfer of energy of a given form among different scales of motion. (From McGraw-Hill Dictionary of Scientific and Technical Terms, 6th ed). It includes the transfer of kinetic energy and the transfer of chemical energy. The transfer of chemical energy from one molecule to another depends on proximity of molecules so it is often used as in techniques to measure distance such as the use of FORSTER RESONANCE ENERGY TRANSFER.

Facilities that convert NUCLEAR ENERGY into electrical energy.
