Surgical ablation of large maxillary cysts usually results in considerable hard and soft tissue deficits that ultimately affect the final esthetic and functional outcomes. Reconstruction of such defects; whether primarily or secondarily; offers much better long-term outcomes Gellrich NC, Schramm (2002). However, primary bony reconstruction becomes potentially complicated in many cases of such large cysts encroaching or involving the maxillary sinus where a communication with the maxillary sinus lining may be unavoidable Eckardt A, Swennen (2005).
Reconstruction of such defects can be accomplished using either vascularized or; more commonly; non-vascularized autogenous bone grafts. Different bone substitutes remain to be another viable option. The simultaneous use of titanium meshes provides physical three-dimensional support for the bone graft contained within as well as the overlying soft tissues Lethaus, et al (2010). However, the drawbacks of titanium meshes in such defects remain to be mainly the difficulty in adequately shaping the mesh and the lack of proper isolation of the mesh contents from the maxillary sinus cavity Kokemueller H, et al (2008).

using gel foam [ absorbable gelatin ] in maxillary sinus elevation which act as a space maintainer and alternative to bone filler for new bone formation in the maxillary sinus and its adva...
The present study describes and evaluates the surgical protocol for sinus mucosal lining elevation of the maxillary sinus for Dental Implant Insertion without Bone grafting Underneath the ...
This study is intended to evaluate the efficiency of utilizing "dynamic implant valve approach" (DIVA) system in treating chronic maxillary sinusitis.
This study is intended to evaluate the efficiency of graftless maxillary sinus augmentation with concentrated growth factor (CGF) utilizing "dynamic implant valve approach" (DIVA) system.
The objective of this trial is to find out if there is a difference between single-piece and two-piece titanium patient-specific mandibular subperiosteal implants in terms of implant survi...
A novel semicrystalline poly(ether ketone)-based proton exchange membrane (semi-SPEK-x) has been developed. Through a one-step sulfonation and hydrolysis, a poly(ether ketimine) precursor transforms i...
Two N3-substituted imidazoles 1,2-dimethylimidazole and 1-butyl-2-methylimidazole were chosen to functionalize poly(aryl ether ketone), respectively. The generated imidazolium cations could electrosta...
Sulfonated holey graphene oxide (SHGO) filled Sulfonated Poly(Ether Ether Ketone) membrane: the role of holes in the SHGO in improving its performance as proton exchange membrane for direct methanol fuel cells.
Sulfonated holey graphene oxides (SHGOs) have synthesized by the etching of sulfonated graphene oxides with concentrated HNO3 under the assistance of ultrasonication. These SHGOs could be used as the ...
In this study, a cardo poly(aryl ether ketone) ultrafiltration membrane containing an N-chloramine functional group (PEK-N-Cl membrane) was easily obtained via exposure of a cardo poly(aryl ether keto...
The displacement of a dental implant into the maxillary sinus during surgery or after a period of use is a complication defined in the dental implant clinical practice. This complication arises primar...
One of three members of the ether-a-go-go (EAG) POTASSIUM CHANNELS gene family comprising ether-a-go-go (eag), eag-like (elk) and eag-related (erg) subfamilies. Ether-a-go-go-related gene 1 (ERG1) also known as KCNH2, encodes the pore-forming subunit of a rapidly activating-delayed rectifier potassium channel that plays an essential role in the final repolarization of ventricular action potential. Loss-of-function mutations in human hERG1 is associated with life-threatening ARRHYTHMIA.
A family of voltage-gated potassium channels that are characterized by long N-terminal and C-terminal intracellular tails. They are named from the Drosophila protein whose mutation causes abnormal leg shaking under ether anesthesia. Their activation kinetics are dependent on extracellular MAGNESIUM and PROTON concentration.
A substance that is an irritant to the eyes and respiratory tract and may be carcinogenic.
A diphenyl ether derivative used in cosmetics and toilet soaps as an antiseptic. It has some bacteriostatic and fungistatic action.
The 3-methyl ether of ETHINYL ESTRADIOL. It must be demethylated to be biologically active. It is used as the estrogen component of many combination ORAL CONTRACEPTIVES.
