Postoperative Pain Control With Lipossomic Extended Release Bupivacaine

Randomized trial of intraoperative intercostal block with bupivacaine with epinephrine compared to lipossomal extended release bupivacaine.

Liposome Bupivacaine for WRIST Blocks

Treatment of Dupuytren's contracture requires multiple injections into the palm of the hand to weaken the cords, followed by rupture of the strands 2 days later. Anesthesia is required for...

Evaluation of LB in THA

This study aims to compare the effectiveness of liposomal bupivacaine (LB) versus standard of practice local injection containing plain bupivacaine.

Liposome Bupivacaine Interscalene Total Shoulder

This is a randomized prospective outcomes study comparing two groups of patients. One group will receive liposomal bupivacaine plus bupivacaine and the other will receive bupivacaine alone...

Interscalene Single Shot With Plain Bupivacaine Versus Liposomal Bupivacaine for Rotator Cuff Repair

The investigators will be comparing pain scores and opioid use in patients receiving interscalene peripheral blocks with plain bupivacaine versus those receiving liposomal bupivacaine. Lip...

Neurotoxicity of intraneural injection of bupivacaine liposome injectable suspension versus bupivacaine hydrochloride in a porcine model.

To test whether neurotoxic effects of a bupivacaine liposome injectable suspension differ from those of a standard formulation of bupivacaine hydrochloride (HCl) after intraneural injection into the s...

Liposomal Bupivacaine vs. Bupivacaine Hydrochloride with Lidocaine During Midurethral Sling Placement: a Randomized Controlled Trial.

The primary objective was to study the effects of liposomal bupivacaine (LB) compared to bupivacaine HCL with lidocaine on postoperative day 1 pain scores.

Effect of Long-Term Intrathecal Bupivacaine Infusion on Blood Pressure.

The local anesthetic bupivacaine is a common analgesic adjuvant medication used in combination with opioids in intrathecal drug delivery systems (IDDSs). While the acute effects of spinal bupivacaine ...

Investigation into spinal anesthetic failure with hyperbaric bupivacaine: the role of cold exposure on bupivacaine degradation.

Hyperbaric bupivacaine (0.75% in dextrose) is used for spinal obstetric anesthesia. Occasional clusters of anesthetic failures occur in this setting, not readily attributable to clinical factors. We h...

Effects of Bupivacaine Versus Bupivacaine Plus Dexamethasone-Soaked Nasal Packing After Endoscopic Nasal Surgery.

The aim of this randomized prospective study was to investigate the postoperative analgesic effectiveness of bupivacaine versus bupivacaine plus dexamethasone-soaked nasal packing in patients schedule...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

A widely used local anesthetic agent.

A local anesthetic with rapid onset and long action, similar to BUPIVACAINE.

A local anesthetic and cardiac depressant used as an antiarrhythmia agent. Its actions are more intense and its effects more prolonged than those of procaine but its duration of action is shorter than that of bupivacaine or prilocaine.

A local anesthetic that is chemically related to BUPIVACAINE but pharmacologically related to LIDOCAINE. It is indicated for infiltration, nerve block, and epidural anesthesia. Mepivacaine is effective topically only in large doses and therefore should not be used by this route. (From AMA Drug Evaluations, 1994, p168)

Hydrophilic contact lenses worn for an extended period or permanently.
