Treatment of Bifurcation Lesions by SINGLE STENT and KISSing Balloon Trial

The use of DES have not diminished the need of improved treatment strategies , especially the treatment of bifurcation lesions still leave much to be clarified. Particularly, for bifurcati...

Jailed Wire Technique in the Treatment of Coronary Bifurcations Lesions With Stent: Stereoscopic Microscopy Study

The aims of this study are: 1) To identify more resistant the guidewire type to the retrieval maneuvers after the jailing. 2) To determined anatomic and technical factors influencing the ...

Conventional Versus Intentional StraTegy in Lesions With High Risk PrEdiction of Side Branch OccLusion in InterVEntion

The purpose of the present study is to investigate if intentional strategy (a more aggressive side branch protection strategy: primary two-stent or jailed balloon technique) is associated ...

The Study of the Crushing Technique Application Using SES in Coronary Bifurcations.

The objective of this study is to compare the safety and effectiveness of two different approaches to treat bifurcational lesions with CYPHER SELECT™ Sirolimus-eluting Balloon-expandable...

"Radial Ultra Support Technique" (RUS Technique)

Adequate support is required for challenging percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI). The ""Radial Ultra Support (RUS)"technique is a new support technique that provides active support b...

Coronary bifurcation bench test using multimodality imaging: Impact of stent strut link location on stent deformity and jailed side-branch orifices during re-proximal optimizing technique.

The purpose of this study was to compare the stent deformation, obstruction of stent struts at a jailed side branch (SB) ostium, and stent strut malapposition after a repetitive proximal optimizing te...

Successful kissing balloon expandable stent graft treatment for a right common carotid pseudoaneurysm caused by tracheotomy.

A rare complication following a tracheotomy is common carotid artery (CCA) pseudoaneurysm. There are many treatment modalities for CCA pseudoaneurysm including surgical repair and single-artery balloo...

Should kissing balloon inflation after main vessel stenting be routine in the one-stent approach? A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized trials.

The KBI (kissing balloon inflation) technique is considered the default strategy for the two-stent approach in real world practice. Studies comparing KBI and No-KBI in patients undergoing the one-sten...

Benefit of a new provisional stenting strategy: the re-Proximal Optimizing Technique. The rePOT clinical study.

A new coronary bifurcation provisional stenting technique without kissing balloon, rePOT, associating proximal optimizing technique (POT), side-branch inflation and final POT, showed excellent mechani...

Prognostic impact of final kissing balloon technique after crossover stenting for the left main coronary artery: from the AOI-LMCA registry.

It is still uncertain whether the final kissing balloon technique (FKBT) is mandatory after crossover stenting for the left main coronary artery (LMCA). Assessing Optimal Percutaneous Coronary Interve...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

Use of a balloon catheter for dilatation of an occluded artery. It is used in treatment of arterial occlusive diseases, including renal artery stenosis and arterial occlusions in the leg. For the specific technique of balloon dilatation in coronary arteries, ANGIOPLASTY, TRANSLUMINAL, PERCUTANEOUS CORONARY is available.

Dilation of an occluded coronary artery (or arteries) by means of a balloon catheter to restore myocardial blood supply.

Abnormal balloon- or sac-like dilatation in the wall of CORONARY VESSELS. Most coronary aneurysms are due to CORONARY ATHEROSCLEROSIS, and the rest are due to inflammatory diseases, such as KAWASAKI DISEASE.

A technique utilizing a laser coupled to a catheter which is used in the dilatation of occluded blood vessels. This includes laser thermal angioplasty where the laser energy heats up a metal tip, and direct laser angioplasty where the laser energy directly ablates the occlusion. One form of the latter approach uses an EXCIMER LASER which creates microscopically precise cuts without thermal injury. When laser angioplasty is performed in combination with balloon angioplasty it is called laser-assisted balloon angioplasty (ANGIOPLASTY, BALLOON, LASER-ASSISTED).

Technique that utilizes low-stringency polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification with single primers of arbitrary sequence to generate strain-specific arrays of anonymous DNA fragments. RAPD technique may be used to determine taxonomic identity, assess kinship relationships, analyze mixed genome samples, and create specific probes.
