Filling of the Urinary Bladder During Difficult Cesarean Section

Risk factors for bladder injury during Cesarean Section are well known. Most of cases of bladder injury occur in presence of previous Cesarean Sections, morbidly adherent placenta, or prev...

A Novel Multiplex ELISA Assay for Surveilling Patients With History of Bladder Cancer

Voided urinary cytology (VUC) is the most widely used urine-based assay for detecting bladder cancer (BCa); however, it fails to detect approximately 50% of low-grade or early stage BCa wh...

Molecular Biosensors for Detection of Bladder Cancer

This project focuses on developing specific and sensitive detectors of biomarker-based signatures associated with diagnosed and recurrent bladder cancer.

Survivin Urine mRNA Assay Risk of Bladder Cancer Study

The purpose of this clinical trial is to evaluate the ability of urinary Survivin mRNA measurement to estimate the risk of bladder cancer at the time of cystoscopy in subjects with no prio...

Symptoms of Lower Urinary Tract Dysfunction Research Network (LURN) Prospective Observational Cohort Study Protocol

The purpose of this study is to advance our understanding of people who experience urinary and bladder problems. We are interested in learning about people's experiences with urinary sympt...

A Large Urinary Bladder Hemangioma Mimicking Urachal Cancer: A Case Report and Literature Review.

Urinary bladder hemangiomas are rare, especially in children and adolescents. We present a case of a 17-year-old young man with persistent gross hematuria for 1 month. Computed tomography revealed a 3...

Novel urinary biomarkers for the detection of bladder cancer: A systematic review.

Urinary biomarkers for the diagnosis of bladder cancer represents an area of considerable research which has been tested in both patients presenting with haematuria and non-muscle invasive bladder can...

Urinary MicroRNAs as Potential Biomarkers of Bladder Cancer.

Currently, there are no urinary-based tumour markers with sufficient sensitivity and specificity to replace cystoscopy in the detection of bladder cancer (BCA). Urinary microRNAs are emerging as clini...

Diagnostic, prognostic and surveillance urinary markers in nonmuscle invasive bladder cancer: any role in clinical practice?

To summarize the current knowledge about the clinical role of novel urinary markers in bladder cancer (BCa) management, from diagnosis to follow-up, from prognosis of oncological outcomes to response ...

Estimating Minimally Important Differences for the Bladder Cancer Index Using Distribution- and Anchor-Based Approaches.

The Bladder Cancer Index is a validated condition-specific health questionnaire assessing urinary, bowel and sexual function and quality of life among bladder cancer patients. We aimed to establish mi...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

Tumors or cancer of the URINARY BLADDER.

A HERNIA-like condition in which the weakened pelvic muscles cause the URINARY BLADDER to drop from its normal position. Fallen urinary bladder is more common in females with the bladder dropping into the VAGINA and less common in males with the bladder dropping into the SCROTUM.

Symptom of overactive detrusor muscle of the URINARY BLADDER that contracts with abnormally high frequency and urgency. Overactive bladder is characterized by the frequent feeling of needing to urinate during the day, during the night, or both. URINARY INCONTINENCE may or may not be present.

An abnormal passage in the URINARY BLADDER or between the bladder and any surrounding organ.

Involuntary discharge of URINE as a result of physical activities that increase abdominal pressure on the URINARY BLADDER without detrusor contraction or overdistended bladder. The subtypes are classified by the degree of leakage, descent and opening of the bladder neck and URETHRA without bladder contraction, and sphincter deficiency.
