Taking rejection to heart: Associations between blood pressure and sensitivity to social pain.

A reliable finding from the physical pain literature is that individuals with higher resting (i.e., tonic) blood pressure experience relatively less pain in response to nociceptive stimuli. Converging...

Blood pressure-related pain modulation in fibromyalgia: Differentiating between static versus dynamic pain indicators.

Resting blood pressure (BP) has been found to be inversely associated with evoked pain responsiveness in healthy populations. However, some reports suggest that BP-related pain modulation may be dysfu...

Mitigating the Effect of Pain Severity on Activity and Disability in Patients with Chronic Pain: The Crucial Context of Acceptance.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of pain severity on activity levels and physical disability in the context of high pain acceptance. We hypothesized that pain acceptance moderates t...

Blood monoamines as potential biomarkers for conditioned pain modulation efficacy: an exploratory study in pediatrics.

Monoaminergic pathways are involved in the process of pain inhibition and facilitation. The objective of this study was to investigate the role of blood monoamines as biomarkers of conditioned pain mo...

A test to detect non-agglutinating ANTIBODIES against ERYTHROCYTES by use of anti-antibodies (the Coombs' reagent.) The direct test is applied to freshly drawn blood to detect antibody bound to circulating red cells. The indirect test is applied to serum to detect the presence of antibodies that can bind to red blood cells.
