Prospective Surveillance for Very Early Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Hepatocellular carcinoma is one the leading cause of increasing cancer-specific mortality worldwide. Early diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma provides opportunity for curative therapeut...

Biomarker Analyses in Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) Patients Treated With TheraSphere®

To analyze specific angiogenic, inflammatory and immune profiles in hepatocellular carcinoma patients who undergo radioembolization.

Temsirolimus and Sorafenib in Advanced Hepatocellular Carcinoma

This is a Phase I study, which means that the goal is to see if the combination of Temsirolimus and Sorafenib is safe in patients with Hepatocellular Carcinoma. Sorafenib is a standard tre...

Study of ARQ 197 in Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC)

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of ARQ 197 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients treated with daily oral ARQ 197, to determine the recommended dos...

Evaluation of the Efficacy of Long-acting Release Octreotide in Patients With Advanced Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most common malignant disease worldwide with an increasing incidence in industrialized countries. For patients with advanced HCC no efficient t...

The clinical significance and biological function of lncRNA RGMB-AS1 in hepatocellular carcinoma.

LncRNA RGMB-AS1 has been suggested to play significant roles in lung cancer progression. However, it remains unknown whether lncRNA RGMB-AS1 is involved in the development and progression of hepatocel...

MiR-490-3p inhibits autophagy via targeting ATG7 in hepatocellular carcinoma.

The miR-490-3p was transfected into HepG2 cells to explore the correlation between miR-490-3p and hepatocellular carcinoma cell proliferation, apoptosis, and autophagy and its downstream target gene A...

A metastasized hepatocellular carcinoma in the capsule of an undescended testis in the right inguinal area: report of a rare case.

Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) is the most common primary carcinoma of the liver, which mainly metastasizes through the portal vein system.

Metastatic breast cancer to the liver with hepatoid features and Hep Par 1 antibody positive mimicking hepatocellular carcinoma.

The hepatocyte paraffin 1 antibody (Hep Par 1) has a high positive predictive value for differentiating hepatocellular carcinoma from cholangiocarcinoma and metastatic carcinoma. We report a case of m...

Glutamine synthetase mediates sorafenib sensitivity in β-catenin-active hepatocellular carcinoma cells.

The gene encoding β-catenin is frequently mutated in hepatocellular carcinoma cells. While the oncogenicity of β-catenin has been extensively studied, β-catenin's role in hepatocellular carcinoma t...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

An ORTHOHEPADNAVIRUS causing chronic liver disease and hepatocellular carcinoma in woodchucks. It closely resembles the human hepatitis B virus.

The type species of the genus ORTHOHEPADNAVIRUS which causes human HEPATITIS B and is also apparently a causal agent in human HEPATOCELLULAR CARCINOMA. The Dane particle is an intact hepatitis virion, named after its discoverer. Non-infectious spherical and tubular particles are also seen in the serum.

The first alpha-globulins to appear in mammalian sera during development of the embryo and the dominant serum proteins in early embryonic life. They reappear in the adult serum during certain pathologic states, primarily hepatocellular carcinoma. They may also be elevated in the amniotic fluid and maternal serum during pregnancy in ANENCEPHALY.

A primary malignant neoplasm of epithelial liver cells. It ranges from a well-differentiated tumor with EPITHELIAL CELLS indistinguishable from normal HEPATOCYTES to a poorly differentiated neoplasm. The cells may be uniform or markedly pleomorphic, or form GIANT CELLS. Several classification schemes have been suggested.

The founding member of the EPH FAMILY RECEPTORS. It was first cloned from an erythropoietin-producing human hepatocellular carcinoma cell line and is highly conserved among many mammalian species. Overproduction of the EphA1 receptor is associated with tumors and tumor cells of epithelial origin. It is also expressed at high levels in LIVER; LUNG; and KIDNEY; which is in contrast to many other members of the Eph receptor that are found primarily in tissues of the nervous system.
